Went out to the track yesterday (Heartland Park) for one of those SCCA Track Night in America events... I probably won't be doing another. I ran in the intermediate group, as I know I shouldn't be in the top group, but it was brutal. Constant lap traffic, guys that were sliding all over the place.
I've been running Toyo R88Rs most of the summer and completely love them. I usually start around 28psi cold and then they are good for 15-20 minutes of pretty decent lapping. At the beginning of my second session I didn't bleed them down any (mistake, I was frustrated with cars not giving point bys) so I started closer to 30psi.
By the end of the second session they were hot and slick. I came through a corner and at 15:30ish and the rear just kept kicking out on me. Luckily, no harm no foul...but that wall was close. Definitely had to check my shorts.
