I currently have the Gen2 kit and I loved it with my previous setup but now not so much. I honestly think I need to rebuild the AC system on the car though.... has 184k miles so I've gotten my money worth lol. My KB makes so much damned heat though that it kills the in cab cooling bad... It drops my IATS's a RIDICULOUS AMOUNT THOUGH.

Beings I've had my Gen2 it for a few years now whats next in the form of upgrades? I have a new compressor I want to install one day, I'm planning to replace everything including the condensor ( I had to repair it last year) and the evap unit... So total new system just because I dont want to do it again. If I was to go with the Gen 3 core or switch to the drag kit would either benifit my in cab cooling?

How much extra refrigerant is needed for this system to operate properly?

The instructions in the kit will explain the recharge procedure. You'll be taking the outside temperature and multiplying it by 2.8. That's roughly what your high side pressure will be. So if it's 90 degrees out then you'll take 90 X 2.8 = 252 psi for your high side pressure. Your low side will be about 40~45 psi.

with that many miles make sure you replace the condenser and accumulator. They are cheap and easy to replace. The condenser and cooling fan are the heart of the system. It's what removes the heat energy from the refrigerant and makes for cold AC. The condenser is a multi port parallel exchanger. after several years some of the passages will clog up, and severely reduce efficiency. Call me when you have a chance and I'll check on pricing for you.

Kincaid, is there any reduction in cabin coldness temps with this kit installed? Meaning is the cabin not going to be as cold? The A/C is constantly working to cool off hot IC fluid so there has to be some reduction is coldness, correct?

In theory yeah, and the system has to work harder. I wonder how hard the KC + in cab AC system is on the compressor.

What refrigerant is everyone using? Is you IC tank in the engine bay or trunk mounted? Is it insulated if in engine bay and with what? What are your post blower temps?

We Balanced these kits for good in-cab and charge cooling. Ford over engineered the A/C system in these vehicles so you won't see much difference in your in-cab cooling.

We've been building, selling and installing these kits since 2001, and for the 03-04 Cobra we've been doing it since 2005. We haven't seen any premature failures in any of the AC components as a result of this kit. Which is good or we'd be out of business.

We recommend insulating the suction line, and the return evap line. You can pick up the 6' foam insulation sticks for about 3-5 bucks at any hardware store. For the refrigerant recharge you can use the stock R134a, or you can go with an aftermarket like Industrial R134A which is 10 degrees colder > http://coolantexpress.com/refrigerant-and-support-fluids/industrial-r134a-replacement/

Obviously this was just showing the KC kit installed on a Cobra and the effects it has on the IAT2s. Over the years we've seen customers report back on average a 45~50 HP gain, with the KC on verses off...allowing the vehicle to get heat soaked for the test. Also this kit will allow you to run a very aggressive setup without detention, or pulling timing.

I have had the kc setup for 2 years now on a 170k a compressor and it is ice cold. It works and makes the car enjoyable on a hot day.

OK then why would you not post it as such. I like the info on how well they cool and man the Killer Chiller seems to cool it down thats for sure just Obviously not a Dyno. Do you have any before and after dyno's I am very curious in seeing a before and after? I can post my before and after next spring as that is when I plan on installing my Killer Chiller and water Meth at the same time.

Omg, the proof is in the users. Worry about the benefits of dropping your IAT2's instead of power you'll get from it.

Here's a before and after dyno from one of my customers. There's a Cobra that was very similar, if I can find it I'll post it up. http://killerchiller.com/kwiksdyno.htm
