Beef, that's a lot of 9-second cars! That's awesome.

I have a question for ya. From your experience, on a Centri-car what is about the lowest boost setting one can run on a well performing car, and get into the 9's? Like, a basic modded car with bolt-ons and a little suspension work.

A friend of mine have run a 10.05 with a paxton , stock pulley and 9 psi at 137 mph on a cold day....

The debate continues....i haven't driven or ridden in a tvs or Whipple car I'm sure they're awesome. I made my choice for Paxton because it fit everything i was looking for. I like the low end torque, my car gets it out of the hole something fierce. But i want to go not just spin. With tc off i spin all the way through 2nd and hook half way through 3rd. If your still spinning through third, and the other guy is hooking sooner you may lose the race... Just my 2 cents!

lots of factors there, what track, what fuel, etc..

E85 will pick the car up a ton, I think 10-11 psi could get you there.

Every combo has its advantages. There's nothing like a PD and spray on the street.
U guys can talk all u want about PD but they work. Hmm didn't Evolutions car just kick some Butt with there PD and post some awesome times???

That wasn't a TVS, lol. It's about twice the size.

And yes, the car ran great. Once the tune is all tweaked out on the blue car, it will be quicker, in addition to being faster. And it will still be foot braked on the factory auto, not a 15k race transmission with a transbrake.

We pulled 3 more mph boost only with the car falling on it's face on launch.

I'm going to try like hell to put the factory auto in the 7's.

agree with grnenvy...
Terry, your car flys but right now you're chasing a PD car. Evo also said there's a lot left in there car. PD/nitrous is a mean combo.

I haven't had heat soak issues, running 9.5-10#.

This is not a street car...but it's not too far from it. Oh and did I mention its a 3V : )

This wasn't even the car's best time...races NMRA.

TVS 2300

All our Cobra Jet cars run a TVS or Whipple...but that's the rules in the NHRA. No centri or turbos allowed in stock/superstock.
Lot of hook 1.3 60 foot time also almost 120 in the 1/8 car is moving. What's it weight? How far from streetable is it?

They are quicker right now.

Unfortunately I don't have 150-200k to drop into 2 cars in a couple months, lol.

But, with our limited budget, we will be quicker. I can promise you that.

I realize that...I'm not negating your efforts or your setup. Currently they are quicker, but I am glad you're pushing envelope with stock trans!

No dout the centrifiguls hold the upperhand but for all these people to knock a PD there just silly. I would have to say 75% of the people on this site will never run in the 9s.
With a PD blower and the right setup u can do it all day long.
I may not agree with most but I do respect the effort and time that guys like Beefcake spend to go fast. It takes a lot of $$ and where do u get all the time to compete?

Beef I do like that your using the factory trans I'm a huge fan of it.
But please don't start comparing this and that. Remember it is what it is u run whatcha brung.

More like 95%.
I agree that pd blowers are very good. I got a centri mainly because of the price and down the road potential. But the thing that I want to make clear is that centris daily drive just fine.

nobody said they daily drive bad... just some people like how the tvs pulls better in everyday driving situations. If you like the way paxtons drive better in those situations that's perfectly fine, it's the people who make it sound like you're dumb if you like tvs's that are the cause of all this debate :)

it was a run what ya brung, I gave them congrats, I like the guys up at evo a lot.

I do think a th400 would make my car pretty ridiculous, it's already 4 mph faster at 200 lbs heavier, so the power is there once we get the launch sorted out
