CS is a my #1 concern and I do have a strategy, but it involves reducing the amount of work / number of customers in order to concentrate on those customers we do have.

I am currently VERY pleased with the work load as it is not overwhelming, but actually quite enjoyable. 4-5 email tunes a week currently + the custom tunes at the shop which have been fairly steady for the past 5 years. (first few years were slow)
I can easily double if not triple the work load, but after that I will need to take some actions.

First and foremost SVTP is the only nation wide site we advertise on and there are NO plans on advertising elsewhere.
Second, I am specializing in the 5.0 (no V6's) and will not do email tuning for ANY pre-2011 Ford as I can not accurately control fueling remotely like I can with these wideband controlled Fords. I can and do tune the 2011+ GT500's remotely, but that is a much smaller market than the 5.0 so I'm not expecting that to have much of an impact.
Third, customers do most of the advertising by word of mouth rather than banners, specials, etc. Customer word of mouth referals are traditionally the bulk of AED's business.
Forth, referals for those that want an AED tune on the dyno. We currently have a small network of quality tuners in various locations around the country that are fully AED supported. These shops are also dedicated to customer service and quality calibrations. Those that want to extract every last HP on the dyno with an AED based tune have options currently in FL, NY, MD, CA, CO, SC, and now TX.
Fifth, (you all are going to hate me for this), price increases. Basic economics of supply and demand. When demand overwhelms supply, reduce demand, in this case by price increases. Although a nominal price increase is scheduled in Jan, pricing changes designed to reduce demand will be a last resort. The goal is NOT to soak customers for more $$$, but to reduce demand so we can continue to provide the level of service AED customers have become accustom to.

Domination of the market thru volume is NOT our goal.

Congrats on the 10!!!! Did you scale the car?

Also who in Maryland is tuning with AED support?

Shaun, now that you have officially broken the 11 sec. barrier with the stock air box how about throwing on an aftermarket CAI and seeing what happens? I still find the modularfords official party line that they do nothing hard to swallow.

Shaun will be doing my tune as soon as this bad weather passes through here so I can get some data logging done and get him to do his magic for me. I can't wait!!!

I have not scaled it since the last time when it was just over 3600lbs in street trim with driver.

I thought Adam had a good handle on the tuning himself. but I guess if the support is there thats a good thing, thanks for the info I look forward to seeing Adam in a few weeks to defend my street class shootout title from last years 5.0 Mustangs shootout.

Did your car start out as a 300A car or a loaded luxury car? If its a 300A car that 3600 sounds high with your weight reduction mods listed. Our 300A car was 3695lbs stock with me in it and I'm 150lbs and when it went 11.19, 10.97 and 10.88 it was 3550 with me in it.
Scale it next time you run a number.

Shaun,
What RPM's are you launching at? Is your clutch/pressure plate and flywheel upgraded? If so, what did you go with? Which flywheel Is better for street/strip use steel or aluminum?

Sure, it can be done. I am sure that I could do it. Of course, I would run a slick and not a DR, but that is splitting hairs. I don't think just anyone could do it though. There are plenty of guys running around with S/C cars that are slower than my mild bolt on 3.31 car. It is all about getting the car to hook, and getting it down the track. With an auto, I think just about anybody with balls can do it.

Mike

Mike your car looks like it hooks well, are you on slick or DRs? and what are your suspension mods if you dont mind me asking?

I run on a Goodyear 26x8.5 Outlaw slick (stiff sidewall). My suspension mods are the UMI Anti-Hop Kit (LCAs and brackets) and rear Strange 10 way shocks. I also have the 55D Brembo rear springs, although I doubt they help at all. I have a set of matching Strange 10 way struts here, just waiting to go in. Those, with the DSS driveshaft I have on order, will hopefully enable me to drop those 60 foots into the 1.5s and crack the 11.5s or less. I have a 3.31 car, so I run the small slick to gain some gear.
