Ive been running my Pro Cal tune for about 2 weeks now.

No pinging or any other issues..

Feels great all around, very noticeable gain in low end torque.. I love it

I just ordered the frpp powerpack with gt500 mufflers so will give my impression after everything is installed... other than that, looking forward to the low end torque. Just found out there is a place near me having a dyno day soon... I may see if I can get a hold of someone and check on running completely stock, then installing, then re-running on the dyno for a comparison. Not sure if they will without me paying for it, but worth a shot! By the way - picked up the gt500 muffler power pack kit with procal for $560 after discount at american muscle!

I really can not wait for the 2013 ProCal tunes to come out! Its something i feel these cars need. Sadly, my GT doesn't feel fast to me at all. I miss that "torquey V8" feel that all my other V8s had. Even with 3.73s, the factory tune with its "throttle lag" is so off-putting. Ive Ive been told i should gain a couple of MPGs from the tune because of the better throttle response as well!

+1 on that... it did ping at the beginning but has gone away now...

Please do, this would be a first !
I'd love to see the difference in the power under the curve compared to stock

The procal makes a nice difference. A tune mandatory for this car the stock power delivery feels tired:bored:

I've noticed better mpg's with the procal overall. With aggressive driving the overall average never goes under 18.4 for me. Before I'd average 16-17 mpg's.
This is without resetting the mpg thingamabobber for weeks and alot of stop and go traffic.

Several people have done this. I even did this in January. Peak numbers did not show great gains. We had the "Octane adjust" set to "on" as we heard some pinging on the first pull as it had our crappy winter blend gas in the tank.

Stock the car made 358 rwhp & 355 rwtq. With the ProCal it made 363 rwhp & 356 rwtq.

Mid range torque did improve nicely at 20-30 ft/lbs through most of the rpm band. Horsepower was just about 5-8 rwhp through out most of the rpm range.

Unfortunately my dyno operator didn't scale the graphs the same so they are worthless to lay over one another. My three emails for him to send me the before and after on one graph have been ignored.

But like others, I could feel the improved throttle response, the skip shift deletion was very welcomed and the car was all around more enjoyable to drive. For the $289 I think it was worth it.

At this point, id pay $600 for the ProCal tune! Every time i drive my Stang, i get this feeling of being so let down with a hint of buyers remorse! I really hate feeling like this!

Not sure this will cure that issue. It is a nice tune but not THAT nice. I hope it cures your feelings of the car's shortcomings though. Best of luck to you.

Just found out dyno day is this saturday... I just placed the order last night so may not have it all in time. If I do have it, will definitely see if I can run a couple times, otherwise won't be able to! :( Not sure if it's been shipped out and coming from AM whereever that is to Indiana...

I have a M6 2012 that made 376.84 rwhp and 362.51 rwtq before and after i made 387.86 rwhp and 375.26 rwtq. i am unable to post attachments so i cant give the graphs. but those are my numbers. i am half tempted to redyno the car since i just put the GT500 setup and there was a post about that earlier in the week.

Same day and dyno?

Two different days with the same humidity and temps on the exact same dyno and same operator. They were both 80 degrees out.

My father and I both have this tune. His pinged like a mother but after getting his roush ab installed and first oil change he could no longer hear it.
We could normally hear it from 2nd-4th gear under load with the windows up, octane adjust set on N and notably worse when warm out.
Ford Racing says it's harmless and they've never had a reported issue with the Procal. We're assuming the axleback is drowning out the ping but the Roush isn't that loud with the windows up.

Ok so I'm a little confused here. Is there an option to keep the octane adjuster on this tune? And if there is, is the FRP warranty gunna void if 91 isn't used?

It isn't extremely clear but 91+ should always be used no matter which setting you have it on. In the instructions N should be used unless there is audible ping, if there is ping set octane adjust to Y.
You will want the tune set to N believe me, the difference is quite noticeable...
My fathers had much less ping set on Y but it was still there and the performance was almost like stock. Anyway he has left it on N and hasn't heard a thing since the Roush install lol...

Ok that makes sense! Lol I was under the impression that 91+ was needed with any tune, but that octane adjuster kinda had he excited in case I go a few months without ever pushing the cars performance to save a few pennies and have it warrantied from it causing problem from running crap gas.

I remember Bama/AM did a dyno on the pro cal when the '11's came out and it lost peak rwhp.

Yeah yeah but results are proven at the track and the procal has produced better times. I would like to see a back to back dyno before and after the procal install to see the torque gains under the curve.

So seeing as the most noticeable difference on this tune is its torque at low rpm versus the peak hp gains on other aftermarket tunes. How does the torque gain compare to tunes from AED or Steeda? are the other aftermarket tune making the same torque at low rpm. Or is all their tq& hp gain shifted towards the higher rpm?
