I love it, I did mine last week and they look awesome. I took out 3 and left one like a couple of the guys did, but I still have the flap on them so I can close them when it is going to rain, awesome idea! It does take some time to do though, lol.

^ Post some pics
I get alittle enjoyment out of doing small things like this. I don't usually care about how much time it takes. Most people don't notice them but the ones that do appriciate them. If I could weld aluminum I would make some.

Damn I love free mods! I'll be doing this too! I like the looks of cutting every other one better. Do the vents just pop off? I should really ditch that damn hood insulator too! What is the main reasoning for the ground cable that connects to the hood?

Are you guys ditching that ground cable when removing the insulator?

Yeah the vents just pop off. I took my hood blanket off. Im not sure but I think the strap might be to transfer the heat off the hood into the body? IDK though. Just an idea. I've been told its for radio interferance.

I saw this thread a while back and thought "what a great idea", now I see on these photos here that some of you are going more than "every other" on your vents.

Is this true? What is the gap or method used on these? The gaps look big.

What I did was I cut out everyother one painted them put them on the car and drove around for a day. After looking at them alittle bit I still didn't really like the looks of them. So I went back and cut out everyother one again. I think it comes out to cutting out two, leaving one. Some guys are cutting 3 and leaving one I think. I really like the looks of mine now and don't plan on changing them. Sitting at a stop light now you can really see the heat coming out of them. Im glad you like them  I even painted one silver but didn't like that so now they are satin black with no clear. The clear made them look crappy IMO.

I did every other and will post pics when I get home. Makes the lines on the hood look more muscular, definitely more aggressive. Took TONS of time to sand down smooth though. Oh well can't complain did it at work so atleast I was getting paid!

Well I like it enough that I'm pretty sure I am going to go back and snip out "every other" again... more sanding...:nonono: oh well.

lol... It's worth it. It's nice to have those mods you can't buy, and you have to make them. Im glad you like them and decided to do the mod. When I did them the second time I went through and marked them twice so I knew I wouldn't end up with an odd one.
I would like to buy another set that are stock if anyone has a spare set.

^ They look good, but IMO it looks even better when you cut everyother one out again. It really opens it up but not too much so it looks bare.

I scuffed the whole vent including inbetween the louvers and shot them with satin black trim paint.
