from what i've seen, stock 02-04 z06's will trap between 112-116, which with a decent launch should be low 12's, maybe high 11's on good tires...

and to add to your last sentence, my 01 did not have headers, gears, or ported intake, and ran 12.5's on drag radials...

Exactly, I dont know why people think you have to go balls to the wall to beat a stock z06. Yeah, they're quick, but you dont need a blower just to beat one. With full bolt ons and gears, you should easily take one. (Assuming you can drive, driver mod is key.)

I have a friend with an 03Z06 and when he rode in my car he said it was much faster than his. Most of the stuff on my motor was bolted on. lol

if it's an 01 then yes, maybe even an 02-04. they are quick cars, but that will get your car to around 400 rwhp, and the gears is just topping it off with a cherry on top

I had a 99' Cobra with full bolt on's and exhuast w/ a 100 shot of nitrous and beat a 03' zo6 h/c/i by a good car 1/2 from 20/130

I've raced two. You will need full bolt ons (including ported intake, no cats) and 4.56's. Than it's still a drivers race.

Those guys are my friends, the GT only has an cold air intake and a steeda catback, drag radials and gears (can't remember if there 4.10s or 4.30s)and of course the 100 shot. there is another vid around with them going from a dig and the vette didn't pull him until at least 80-90mph. The Vette driver had the car for a month, so IDK how well he was at driving it. But I can say confidently that a full bolt on 4V is a drivers race against your average driven ZO6. Get a guy who can drive or a lightly modded one and you will be in for a world of hurt though.

from a dig with equal drivers....yes. The race is yours below 50 mph. above 80mph.... it will be close to neck to neck until you run out of gear or your bottle's empty.

Seeing how a stock C5 ZO6 is good for low 12s at 112-115 stock you're gonna need A LOT of stuff to take one

Honestly...there is zero chance 99/01 would pull a FRC or Z06 with just normal bolt-ons. Like everyone else stated, need tons of work plus nitrous or FI just for insurance.

My car would have a difficult time pulling (~480 rwhp / ~ 520 rwtq) a modded FRC or C5 Z06, so there would be zero chance most New Edge's would stand a chance. However, it's just something for people to strive for!
