Worth going catless?

I currently have a BBK X-pipe with Hi-Flow cats. Is it worth getting a catless X-pipe instead of the Hi-Flow ones? Looking more at additional noise...not sure there would be any HP benefits. Also, I have a KB 2.2 lined up for this summer if that plays into it at all. Thanks, Todd

From purely a noise standpoint, then yes. These cars are EXTREMELY loud once you de-cat them. Going catless really changes the note.

Noise is the only difference. My car has Mac lontubes with an o/r x-pipe and Mac cat back. It was loud as f**k so I welded on a set of SLP high flow cats. Now it isn't loud till I go WOT and it didn't slow down at all with cats

no real hp benefit since I went catless. The biggest drawback is no longer being able to hear the radio unless I have it quite loud when on the highway

I beg to differ. Many blown fi engines have been caused by high flow or stock cats. If and when you get the kb I would ditch the cats for safe measure.

The person who tuned my car said if I delete the hi-flo cats, I should be able to stay at or around the same power level without the meth. So to me that sounds damn good, safer tune, and don't have to worry about the meth kit quitting. Or run 91 with the meth instead. He said its the only difference between mine and another cobra in the city making the same power.

edit: running a 2.3 whipple, MAC LT / Lethal Catted X / Bassani Catback

If you're going to do a twin screw, if you can invest in longtubes. They sound amazing. Personally, I do not like the sound of cat's. Off road ftw

Sounds good guys, Thanks! That was a secondary question: Will the stock headers be OK with the 2.2?
