Had a few questions:

Should i take the dust shields off from behind the rotors?

Will it look weird if i powdercoat the valve covers wrinkle blue and the rest wrinkle black? Should i just do it all wrinkle black? What color blue do most people use?

Is it bad to powdercoat the borla stinger catback pipes chrome instead of sanding and polishing them?

Anything else i should do while i am going this far? Head cooling mod ?

Which battery kit should i use to move it to the trunk? which battery box?

Thanks

I used black on everything in my engine, while it was out.. picture below for reference, and I just used a simple summit kit for the battery in the back.

All black looks good! If you want some more color do something not as common as wrinkle blue like orange or dark red.

Check your oil pickup to oil pan clearence with the mmr pan. Mine was higher than needed and I have saw several other pans the same way. Could possibly starve the motor for oil

^^^^^^Post of the thread.

i have seen 5 motors fail because of oil pan to pick-up tube clearance issues.

Good luck.

Update:

Ordered some parts:
D&D 26 spline input shaft with shims
RXT 26 spline clutch
Fidanza aluminum fly wheel with ARP hardware
Driveshaft saftey loop
MM full length subframes
MGW orange handle shifter
Moroso 8QRT oil pan
Head cooling mod kit
Engine dress up parts
Battery relocate kit with box
Low profile IRS bolts
Fiore Clutch adjust kit with new cable
Glenns performance return fuel system with sump tank

I also had my 01 cobra upper and lower intake ported

I sent off the upper and lower intake, valve covers, timing cover, alternator housing to be powdercoated gloss black. I was going to do wrinkle but was worried it would be a pain to keep clean.

I had the factory manifolds powdercoated as well so they did not look bad.

I had my gas tank cover sanded and painted gloss black, had the tank straps powdercoated chrome to make them stand out.

I also did the Borla catback so it shines real nice.

I know i am leaving out a lot, will post more as i get more done. Still waiting on the turbo kit to show up.

Hey bro if you run into any problems along the way feel free to pm me for help. I've did this exact kit on my car already.

I suggest you go ahead and spend the money to get the 76mm billet/ball bearing precision. Trust me, that thing is a monster! My car made 787hp 720tq on 20psi and that wasn't pushing the timing at all. You'll have to wear ear plugs tho because it sounds like your in a f16 jet!

I don't know how you plan to run your maf but I suggest going blow thru.... The hellion draw thru sucks for me.

i went with the 76 ball bearing precision. I think that is why it is taking a little longer to get

I have the SCT 2800 but have been thinking about going to the blow thru.

Stock bottom end? What fuel system did you run?

Thanks. I had him show me wrinkle and gloss black. Liked how easy it was to clean the gloss. Waiting on my alternator, tb, exhaust, bolts.

Everything looks good so far. Keep us updated.

I agree on the blow-thru setup. Much easier to tune and less edgy. I'm running an PMAS HPX in a 3.5" housing.

Good choice on the sump also. Did you get the actual sumped tank or the sleeper tank?
