    Aeromotive 11142 - Evo Empire Forum - Page 2

    Post 28

This was before they were released. So I was wrong, they changed their warranty. Here is the update from the vendor on the evo site.

"When I spoke with Aeromotive Tech Reps on the phone before the pump was released, that's what the guy told me, however, it seems now that they have been released and have seen them run on E85, they released new info. Look at the following link at read the part at the bottom of the first page about compatible fuels. It says it's compatible with E85, but filter maintenance and pump life may be reduced. In this case, knowing that you run an alcohol based fuel like E85 with that pump, they probably wouldn't warranty it."

So if you want to run E85 with pumps from a company that isn't even sure or not it works with e85 go ahead.:rollseyes

People aren't using GT pumps in their builds because, 1. walbros are cheaper and 2. Your tuner couldn't be lazy and just rely on the pumps running full power, because If you did use GT pumps in a return system you would still be able to utilize the computer to alter voltage, It would be a hybrid system of sorts, there would be no reason to run the pumps full time.

But if the pumps were ran full power, I see no reason as why they would fail. I'm sure ford did a good job designing them to work a long life. I've never seen a GT pump fail.

This is what made me think they could be used in a returnless system. From that statement it seems like they can. Would be nice to be able to keep my stock hat/returnless system by using these. Guess I'll have to call Aeromotive when the time comes and find out for myself.

Yea, it would be worth the call to find out. They may be a good replacement to GT pumps in that case as well.

Guys, lets stay on the subject about Areomotive, DW300, and Jay's Racing 300+LPH pump. I think we have several options now. I am trying to make 750-780rwhp on E85 and 3.4 Whipple.

pulled off the aeromotive instlation instructions.
To ease the determination of which Aeromotive 340 Stealth pump may be used as an
alternative, note the last 2-digits of the 340 Stealth Series part numbers correspond to the last twodigits of the 3 common, 255 LPH pumps. For those that know which of the 255 LPH pumps will work in their tank, simply select the Aeromotive 340 Stealth pump with the same last 2-digits. For example, the 255 LPH GSS340 and the Aeromotive 11140 will have similar form-factor and application.

Im getting these for my fore hat. IM going to order 11142's with my e85.

Do anyone know if the DW300 Pumps will fit in a Fore Hat? Have you guys seen the Jay Racing replacement Walbro Pump? It is the PT342 Pump, it will outflow the Bosch 044 Pump. I need to order either since the Areomotives are on back order until May. Maybe I need to call Fore and see will the DW300 fit in the FOre Hat, I do know that the PT342 will because it is the same dimensions as the Walbro 255LPH pump.

I have email traffic with DW saying that the inlet/outlet and electric hookup is the same exact as the GSS342's.......

Be interested on more info with the Jay racing pump? Im ready to pull the trigger on a full system

I'd wait for the stealth 340 pumps. May is only a month away. Do you need it before then?

I have my whole fuel system besides the pumps. I will be purchasing either the Jay Racing Pumps or DW300 Pumps. The DW300 pumps have a 3 year warranty and E85 compatible, the PT342 by Jay Racing has a 1 year warranty and I dont know if its E85 compatible. These PT342 pumps flow more than the DW300s. CHeck it out

Just talked to Jay at JAY RACING and was told the pumps described in this thread all use the same copper comutator design so he feels that over time the water content will corrode the pump eventually.

I guess everyone running E85 will need some pumps down the road. The DW300 pumps are a tad wider than the Walbros, so it will not fit in a Fore Hat.

Is there an offset for the DW300s as there are for the Aeromotive 340 11142? Or do they only make one model of the DW300?

Called around and the DW300 pumps dont have the offset inlet/outlet like the Aeromotive 340 11142 pump does. Not sure if they can still be used or not.

They are also a lil' fatter than the Aeromotive Pumps and Walbro Pumps. I wish I could have used these DW300 pumps especially since I'll be running E85 sometime. However, the Jay racing PT342 Pumps are suppose to be really good. I'll get my fuel system this week andhave a tune in about two weeks and I'll let you know how they work with the 80lbs

Great info! Looks like the DW300 pump has the same offset input/output like the Aeromotive 11142.

It does, but it is actually slightly rounder and will not work in the fore hat.

Um Return style Fuel pumps do run full time if im not mistaken? and psi will stay the same so pumps will still push as hard but will not get as hot cause the fuel is flowing instead of boiling in 1 line. thats probley why they say no return pumps on return less im shooting in the dark. ill try the stealths returnless!!!
