I get to go to work and see the great muscle built here every day. Sorry missed the ZR1 by a day.

Went to Detroit last summer & loved it. Still some good people there. I wish it would make a come back but with the big 3 sending jobs to Canada & Mexico I don't see that happening, sadly.

I don't get it. A CTS-V and a 5.0? I can see those anytime I want, even in Montana.

I can see where some might no understand of being proud of what is coming out of Detroit. But I have lived here my whole life. 40+ years and i can honestly say they are building some of the best cars they have ever. I mean come on 400+ hp on average for a muscle car of this time, and if ya want to step up with the big boys 600+. This from the factory if that don't get the heart pumping your already dead.

Ditto, well said. I totally understand the pride you feel living in Detroit with its rich car manufacturing history. Detroit muscle in particular!

Well said my man! I live a few miles from the GM Test Track (Milford Proving Grounds) and to see ZR1's, CTS V's and all kinds of early mules on the street is way cool.

So the thread is not about the cars in the picture, just about living in general. The cars pictured are just examples of what you are talking about. I seeeee.

Like all places, Detroit has its negatives...but no one lives IN Detroit...we're all suburb dwellers (for the most part).

We also get see new vehicles on the streets long before the rest of the country (and read all the ridiculous posts where people speculate what something is going to look like or what powertrain it's going to have...when many of us already know).

I worked for Chrysler for 12 years and got to drive all sorts of whacky stuff/prototypes, etc. I have friends at Ford/Ford Racing and I've ridden in or driven many of the vehicles in the magazines/Ford Racing catalog. And I happen to live two miles from the GM Tech Center, do I see all sorts if their product go by every day.

The bottom line is that we are all very fortunate to have a performance era that continues to climb/grow in spite of economic challenges in our country...especially for us locally.
