No one said they would be exactly the same...

But considering the first test they did they got a 13.7, they are going to be pretty close to the 4.6.

my friend ran a 13.7 in his bone stock 08 GT, and the 2010's are faster than the 05-09's...

the V6 definably is not "blowing by" the 05-10 GT's

Even though we are very close to seeing 2011 GT's on the dealer lots, I would probably still buy a loaded 2010 GT if it was in the 25K neighborhood. Just my .02

I didn't know you could get factory installed 3.73's..... When'd that become an option?? I think the new 5.0 is supposed to be a better platform for future mods like boost, but that's a downright STEAL to buy a new Stang in the mid-20's.

It comes with the track pack in 2010s, it's a $495 option on the 2011 GTs.

Is the Ford loyalty rate something all Ford dealerships participate in? If so, would this interfere with any other rebate, or is it additional? This will be my first NEW car, so I'm not sure how the rebates work.

From what I've been told I can get $2500 rebate (or 0%) and a $500 student rebate, so that additional money would be nice as well!

It depends on the dealership, usually when they offer a heavy discount they include the rebate or special financing.

There is a guy running 12.4s in his 2010 GT with nothing but an xpipe, factory 3:73s, drop-in filter, upper control arm and ET streets.

I found this fairly loaded GT with 150 miles for $29K.....I'm willing to bet that's not their bottom dollar either in 3 weeks when the 2011s hit the lot.

i just priced a 2011 gt at my local dealership.
brembo package, 3:73's, leather, and a few other little ods and ends. I did NOT get nav, sun roof, 2 ton interior, ect. just the handling, breaking, and leather and it cam out to 38K before taxes and dealer fees so right around 41K out the door.
So 28k out the door for a 2010 and dump that extra 13K into mods and you will have one nice fast 4.6.

edit: PLUS god only knows what or if there will be any big recalls on the new 5.0, we already know the 4.6 is a good platform. (NOT SAYING THE 5.0 ISNT)

I would be willing to bet that you'll see bone stock '11 V6s in the 13.4-6 range when people startg getting ahold of them (that 13.4 might only be accomplished with someone like Evan Smith driving it, but I bet it will be accomplished). I wouldn't be suprised to see a V6 running mid to upper 12s with nothing but a tune, DRs, and steeper gears.

I just picked up my 2010 grabber blue track pack GT 3 weeks ago. I got 4k off sticker, plus 0% for 72 monthes. They are giving great deals right now for the 10's. My car is fully loaded with 3.73 gear. I also didnt want to wait for the 10k over sticker on the new 5.0s cause everybody will want one. The samething happen to the camaros. Now people are so deep in negitive equity on there brand new car. I have owned both a 2008 GT and a 03 cobra.I love my new car. Its not as powerful as the cobra but interior is great and pulls decent. This car is smooth. To the OP, I would go for it. Like you said, just put a blower on it if u want more power. My 2008 with a D1sc made 500rwhp. Goodluck buddy
Also, I would never buy a v6. I dont give a shit if it had 500 hp and ran 11.50s. Nothing beats the exhaust note on a v8. Throw a blower on it and double your power.

2010 v6 or gt will most likely be my next mustang purchase. I love the body and who says you have to keep that 3v in there? the same car is offered with a 5.4 4v;-)

I'd be all over the deals on a 2010 if I were in the market. I know people will preach "wait for the 5.0, you'll be sorry, blah blah," but for someone like me who doesn't have a history with the 5.0 (my first Mustang is the 99 Cobra I picked up a year ago), the argument doesn't really apply. What matters more is saving upwards of $10-$15k on a car that looks the same & could be modded to satisfy my needs.

I'm not doubting that they are going to be very quick cars, but to say that in stock form they are going to shit allover the 2010 GT's is just ignorant...

Personally, I think the 2010 GT is going to become the 94-95 mustang GT of the S197 world... New body style, old motor, very short run...

Here's my uncles GF's 2010 vert GT

Show me where somebody said that the V6 will blow by the 05-10 GT's...

Obviously there is no replacement for the V8 rumble. But these Duratec motors do sound pretty good for V6's.

Well except this engine is going to actually be faster than its predecessor. ;-) The 4.6 mod motor wasn't exactly tearing up the streets over the old 5.0.......except for the Cobra of course.

while I do agree that the NPI 2V isnt anything to brag about, I was going more for the

New body style, Old motor, in 10 years they will be the forgotten bastard cars of the platform kinda thing :D
