I currently run a 26" slick with 3.73's and a tr3650. I'm doing a tr6060 conversion and i'll be switching to a 28" slick soon. Plan to be trapping in the upper 120's and lower 130's. My main concern is the tall 1st gear in the 6060 and getting off the line. I'm changing the 6th gear in the trans to the 0.50 ratio so thats why I'm not concerned about which gear would be better for the street.
well 4.10s + a 28" slick is a approximate 3.95 gear. 4th gear should take to about 131-132 @ 6500 ish rpm. So you'll be cutting it close if you are in fact trapping 130+.
a 3.73 and 26" tires will get you to about 135-136 @ 6500 in 4th - so that's probably the better way to go for you. Especially since you have the 26"s already, try it first. you can always change it up. small steps my .02.
