Looking to stock up on IV bags and solution but have no idea where is best to get it from or if I feasibly even can honestly. Seems like something I should be able to get and searching online shows a wide array of results with varying prices so I am curious if anyone has some good knowledge on this or some good inside tips on who to buy from?

You can get IV sodium chloride bags cheap and you don’t need an Rx. There are a lot of places online that sell it. I don’t stock up on that per say, but now you have me wondering if I should. I get luer lock syringes for my TRT/anabolics from Amazon and few other places. I try to get the hypodermic needles straight from vendors like easytouch, care touch etc. As far as meds like antibiotics and stuff, I have ordered from alldaychemist with no script, plus my vet will pen whip scripts for my dogs, its the same shit we take regarding many antibiotics.

Double O or Deceptive can probably chime in on the IV catheter sets etc… don’t guess on that shit.

Super helpful brother. I have a reason for it but didn't want to type out a big sob story where people just say "Go see a doctor".

My girl has been dealing with some shit and she is going through it now. When she goes to the doctor they basically do an IV and send her on the way with no answers, a huge bill, and then she eventually gets better. It's like a cascading effect of throwing up and not being able to eat that ultimately leads to an inability to hydrate because nothing stays down.

She knows some things about her condition from doctors but hydration is crucial and she is done with going to the ER or doctor every time for something we can do on our own that has shown to help cure it while she figures out what causes or triggers it. I just needed to know what works and what is trustworthy because I have never bought this equipment before but have training on it and will do anything.

I go to the store and buy up everything I can think of that can be drank to hydrate trying to avoid the ER knowing what they will do, and I'm at the point where I just want to jump to what we know works.

I would however like to stock IV bags because they can be used to breach doors as a push charge, but I obviously would still need the fun puddy. In the meantime though, I have other reasons lol.

Here’s what we’ve been using for many years.

IMG_0811.JPG

Bags: Braun
Drip set: Curaplex
Start kit: Curaplex-wouldn’t waste the money on those though. Just buy one tourniquet, some antiseptic wipes, clear tape, gauze.
Catheter: BD insyte

I can ask one of our med guys where they get them, but that doesn’t guarantee it’s the best price.

Pick up a script for Ondansetron Odt Tabs 4mg. They dissolve under the tongue and have kept me out of the ER multiple times from runaway vomiting and would get dehydrated.

Most stuff you can find online with a little searching.

Brands, the ones Jason listed are good. No need to get too fancy. Check the length of the IV set, I like one a bit longer as the short ones can make movement an issue but nothing too long.

I still have my Army Medic Bag fully stocked. King LT tube, suture, bandages, IV sets, etc…

@svtfocus2cobra !!!PLEASE GET her potassium checked and Adrenal system, possible symptom of acute adrenal issues and Addison's disease!!

This Sounds too much like when I lost my mom, her sodium and potassium levels would tank after being sick, over and over. Get an Iv and feel better, in a week back to puking everything up. Only thing she could keep down was Dr. Pepper. Went on for <4 months. One specialist believed she may have had addisons and her cause of death is listed as 1 ACUTE MESENTERIC ISCHEMIA 2. ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY.
But they had her admitted on a Friday, we went into the ER and had to wait +5 hours, she wanted to go home (should have in hindsight, to die at home or go to the other hospital in town.) But we we walked in together Friday, she had heartburn Sunday and I brought in chewy tums, and by Monday moved to the ICU (I wasn't called somehow) as her stomach became descended and somehow they allowed her entire bowel to die. She was just a few months over 58 when I had to pull the plug on Tuesday morning after emergency exploratory surgery overnight where they ran her entire bowel and it was all gone. Then try and comfort my sister over the phone (and gave my bro in law the task of trying to keep her comfort) as she was 8+ hours away and couldn't say goodbye aside me holding the phone to my mom's ear. She fought until I told her it was ok to let go, a lie, but she was a fighter. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Even just before intubating her she'd keep putting the finger monitor up to her lips thinking it was a cigarette. While she wasn't talking, she was there. I had to stay with her as people came in to say goodbye, the moment I left no one else could see her. I'd been up since friday as I'd work and then come and stay with her as I don't trust hospitals. I should have been there instead of work, might still have her.
I'm a bit paranoid when I see patterns like this, Lost most of my family, my older cousin (+6 months) and I are the oldest at 40 now, left in the family tree, parents, grandparents (step and biological all gone) aunts and uncles too. Damn near lost my sister when she had the girls, little lady with twins and kept bleeding. God that would have messed me up.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Such a terrible thing to have to experience so my condolences to you and your family for your loss. She's definitely had me scared a few times watching her throw up multiple times after just taking a small bite of applesauce or a drink of water with some Gatorade

From what I know, she was diagnosed with Gibson Syndrome back in her college years when this first started happening and she feels it is stress induced coupled with diet and alcohol use. When she's feeling good she can eat anything and drink alcohol without issue, but when the combination is right it triggers this reaction. It's happened a number of times but the last two times have lasted for a week or more and she can't do anything for herself, basically bed-ridden and I have to help her with everything. Last time it happened I took her to the ER because she got to the point where she knew she needed an IV so we went and they hooked her up and did some tests. Besides the dehydration everything checked out completely normal. There was a slight elevation in her liver I believe but they said it was barely over the limit and they believed it had to do with what her symptoms were and the impact on her body.

She is going to go back to a specialist and try to figure this out but she needs to get back to normal now so she can work and one of the best ways to give her a leg up is an IV which is why I'm pursuing this route as a means to assist while we figure out the rest. But ultimately there is no cure for Gibson Syndrome and it is hereditary so it likely something she will need to figure out how to cope with and control. We are also thinking her thyroid may be playing a role as well given her symptoms but I will look into Addison's as well. I feel like I heard that brought up at one point so it may have already been looked into. My sister in law has potassium issues to the point it has left her temporarily paralyzed and she was at dangerous levels and they couldn't figure out why because she was too young to be experiencing that I guess. I definitely know how serious that can though with potassium deficiencies.

Appreciate all of the information though and I will start reading up on it more to see if there are parallels.

I ran across an IV mobile service which appears to be becoming a popular thing in Seattle and the other rich cities so she had me schedule one for tomorrow since that is quicker than I'm going to be able to get all of this stuff together, and it's a helluva lot cheaper than an ER visit for one.

I'm still going to put this stuff together though because it is useful. Sounds like it's becoming a new popular venture from how many of these companies I saw listed. They have all kinds of different cocktails for different things. Felt like I was looking at Jamba Juice's menu lol.
