I have an 03 redfire cobra with some bolt ons making about 491rwhp and 460 tq. I've been thinking about what I want to do but there are just so many options: built motor, supercharger swap, turbos, ect.... I want to keep it as a daily driver and looking to join the 600 hp club. Anybody have pros and cons of going whichever way. Just want to know what the best way to go is

dont spray, 2.3 whipple on e85 on 22psi you will be almost at 700 rwhp and 7xx rwtq and its real cheap, especially if you buy some good brand parts used.

Im probably going to go with the 2.8 mammoth lc if I swap superchargers. If I run about 23psi on it how much hp would that make, at an estimate?

600 hp daily driver?

IMHO way too many end up with an engine full of these.:nonono::dw:

I'd have to disagree Jimmy. With a good tune, proper supporting mods and a well maintained car, a 600 rwhp DD is very doable

Oh I don't disagree at all!

However way too many cars are detonating for a vast multitude of different reasons and they end up with pistons like that.

The number of different conditions that can result in a detonation event is absolutely staggering.

Everybody should just get a J&S Vampire now and not have to worry about the crazy amount of things that can trigger detonation.

I would go for a turbo setup if you have the funds. I have nothing against a supercharger setup and the instantaneous torque is nice, but man I miss the sound of the turbo spooling and the massive rush of power that never seems to end. Plus you can easily change your boost settings 'on the fly.' No need to swap pulleys for different power levels, just a simple turn of a knob from the drivers seat.
