Which KMJ do you have? Was that 14.9V @ idle? I can't get more then 13.8 out of mine, that's at cold start, once it warms up vintage drops sometimes hangs around 11.8 or 11.9

That was cold idle. I have the 250amp version. I had to swap to a stock sized pulley from the 3" he recommended.

What shade gray are you thinking?
House of kolor galaxy grey with the coarse flake. I'm doing the mirrors and interior door cups right now as well as the mirrors for the saleen. I'll post pictures when they are done. Trying my hand with carbon fiber for the bases so it might be a few days till I get it right.

Did the coolant crossover delete from Cobra Engineering today and had the pulley bridge powder coated gloss black.

Install was fairly easy and straightforward. Just ran in through its first heat cycle and I’ll add more coolant.

But man there’s no room to work in this engine bay. Ford really shoehorned this engine in.

Dog pic just because. IMG_6753.jpeg

How are you liking the rpm belt? Thinking of switching to it.

Is this pretty much it? Nice, if it is.

Moisture barrier! Ah,mystery solved. LOL. And awesome paint correction sir!

Here's the rest of the paint correction after I finished it up today. First 4 pics are the before pics and the next 4 in the same area once finished. Pics taken around the hood / fender areas. Also some additional pictures with the car being done. Ceramic coating will be done tomorrow.

Yeah. I would see low to mid 12's at idle. It would pick up at cruise though. I didn't like the low voltage when stuck in traffic with the a/c on.
Well I think I'm going to try the stock pulley see if that helps. If not I'm going to be inncontact with Ken again possibly send back. I really do not like the low voltage in traffic. Thanks partner, appreciate the info!

I have a 200 amp KMJ with a big wire kit on the way for my car. I asked Ken about pulley sizes cause I've heard of people having troubles with the bigger pulleys. He told me he'd rather sacrifice some voltage at idle for being safer at higher RPMs so I'll see how mine does once installed.

That's what he tells everyone. But IMO 12.5 isn't good at idle. Especially with big fuel pumps, upgraded intercooler pumps, etc. I spend a lot more time at 750rpm than I do 6500. I figure the couple seconds of overspinning up top is worth the extra voltage at idle.

Yeah, that makes sense. But I do drive my car pretty aggressively, "cruising" around at 3K RPM, rev matching and punching it at every light. If I were to run a stock pulley on the alternator, is it dangerous to the cars electrical equipment to be getting that super high, overcharged voltage so often? I don't want to risk frying anything.

The whole overspinning thing is the actual rpm. The alternator's limit is something like 16.5k. The actual charging system is kept in check by the regulator. So it shouldn't over charge anything at high rpm.

Ahh ok the regulator will prevent it from sending too much voltage. I really should've known that without being told lol. Well in that case, I may just go down to a smaller pulley.

Great paint correction, my friend. That last photo pretty much tells the story. (y) Looks like you cut through the body and I'm looking directly into your garage. LOL. Again, really nice work. Enjoy it today if the weather warrants a local cruise.
