OP, since your dad had 4 Porsche's, was he a baller or was it affordable? serious question, all my debt will be paid off within the year besides my house.......an 80's affordable? I know maintenance is a PITA but if it's a garage queen? Just wondering, been lurking on 6speed forum

Successful buisnessman in the 80s. None of them was a turbo 911. He always wanted one. But he always wanted alot of cars, then he got into boats... the money dried up after that LOL

Rule of thumb i have gathered from my reading is any older 911 is going to cost 25 grand. No matter what price you get it for they are maintenance pigs. By the time your done you have will spent 25. That being said i find the older ones really easy to work on if your mechanically inclined. Also they weight as much as taco.

And the Vengeance Camaro

This thread has me baffled on what the hell "affordable" means? There are some 100K cars in here. Affordable is relative obviously.

For me:

Delorean
78 Trans Am, fully built
mid 80's Porche 911
Syclone/Typhoon
Grand National
5.0 converted Miata
Clean built early 90's full size Bronco
Mint late 70's early 80's El Camino sleeper built.
warn out looking Nomad with a 572 rat.

imo all pretty affordable on most budgets.

*Lmao*Smh… Some have premature articulation and reading comprehension issues, like the genius who wants a TT GT…

Porsche 993, trying to figure out why I've never owned one…

understandable brother, wonder how the Termi and a 5.0 stack up driving wise

Not too sure. I still lust after sonic blue and screaming yellow cobras. I could have gotten one for less than I paid for this, but it was easier to grab this than spend time searching for a clean cobra, and I'm not patient haha.

It's funny how "affordable" is subjective. To me, it's under $10k.

All I want is a one of a kind supercharged lesabre... just kidding. I'll play along with the 10-15k cap, although my cap is moving up over time.

-v8 s10, had an opportunity to buy a nice 4l60, 5.3 one, but decided the buick was more practical.
-Porsche 928
-Porsche 914-6 or 73+ 2.0
-Passat W8

There's a lot more, but I'm tired.

I'm just 19 so I wouldn't really consider it affordable to me but I've always wanted a De Tomaso Pantera.

Interesting, my father in law has been searching for the right one for last couple months.

I originally told him I was trying to get a ctsv and I was gonna dust his ass off(he is pretty diehard ford- owns 4 60s era mustangs and a couple 1st gen broncos) he told me to "bring that pos caddy over and get waxed"

Since I bought my 5.0 which he doesn't know yet hehe....not to mention its about to get a power adder :-D

I'm not gonna say anything about it until a race.

I didn't even know what a pantera was until I found out he wanted one
