I don’t wear one, so don’t care. Is this a statement deal?
I can't see myself spending a grand on a watch, and Iike watches.Ive seen some beautiful watches but I have a hard time letting go of several K for one. I can afford it but at the same time 5k will get you a damned nice vacation, Id rather do that
I could do a lot with $3600. Just sayinBuy the speedy through chitownwatches. Comes with an original omega manufacturers warranty brand new for like 3,600. I purchased mine through them about two years ago and had a wonderful experience and saved near 2gs
Jomas hop is good but doesn’t have the omega warranty.
Watches, to me, are just a status symbol. I have a Bulova and it's the most expensive watch I've owned.
Then again, I don't see many IT guys wearing high end watches.
Most I.T. people, and people in general, just use their phone for the time/date. You're right. [High end] watches are just status symbols; conspicuous displays of wealth. Whenever I wear a watch, it's typically just for arm jewelry. I got into a "discussion" with someone a while back because they were trying to extol the virtues of high dollar watches while disparaging lesser brands as just "fashion watches." I told him, in this day and age, ALL watches are fashion pieces and any feature they offer is superfluous in the age of smartphones and apps. The conversation turned to shit right after that statement. He was pissed to learn that his $10K Rolex is a lesser timekeeper than a $20 burner phone. LOL
Frankly they are as you said just a statement piece. Much like any other over priced hobby though they bring people happiness so in the end that’s all that matters.
Here's my thoughts. I was on the fence about a watch for a while. I feel like i've done well enough for myself to buy one.
Then I started looking around, the lady told me about the Apple Watch 4 and others so I looked at smart watches. My argument went as below:
500-1000 dollars for a watch that tells time
400 dollars for a watch that lets me send email, look at pictures, instagram, help with health monitoring, and make phone calls/texts
Yea, I'm wearing the apple watch. I just can't justify an Omega when all it does is tell me what time it is lol
Love how they can track you and listen to you when you think all is private. Here's my thoughts. I was on the fence about a watch for a while. I feel like i've done well enough for myself to buy one.
