Thoughts? Not sure how I feel, definitely gonna be an awesome blower regardless.
Exactly what I was thinking, great blower but I wouldnt want to take it to its full potential without a minimum of upgrading the rods.
I would say the Gen 3 is not a true bolt on if you have to upgrade rods to max it out. Now the Gen 2 and 2R on e85 that’s nasty. Now Gen 3 on 2.6 or 2.8 you would still be great I would think with stock block.
Well not necessarily tho cause pretty much any single or TT kit out there can make more power then any stock short block can handle and their all bolted on just like blower kits are and if one wants to go faster they can simply turn up the boost just as one could swap the pulley here.
Sure the Turbo setup is easier to make those adjustments from but even a built motor with basic upgraded rods will have their limits on HP unless one goes with a better rod like a billet one and put some sleeves in their block.
So I say its bolt on cause it has a pulley size that will max out ur current combo and if u want to make more hp then u will have to build ur motor to support it but all u have to do it put a smaller pulley on it now. Thats about as bolt on as ur gonna get.
Those are good points, I guess we’re gonna have to wait and see once people start messing with them and I am still curious to see if they will offer a 2.4 and how much boost that will make?? Definitely a great bolt on for the 91 octane crowd.
Install of a blower kit is much simpler than a turbo kit install.Well not necessarily tho cause pretty much any single or TT kit out there can make more power then any stock short block can handle and their all bolted on just like blower kits are and if one wants to go faster they can simply turn up the boost just as one could swap the pulley here.

How are you liking the 2018 vs your modded Gt500?This blower is pretty exciting.
Cant wait for VMP to release it for the Coyote and 18+ platform.
Going to be NASTY when paired with the rifle-fire 10r80. Mmmmm Hmmmm!
Have only had the chance to drive the 18 home from dealer... work has been crazy. Ill put some miles on her this weekend.
Initial thoughts are that the new coyote is STRONG and revs and revs and revs. The power doesn't stop pouring on.
Trans in drag mode is incredible. It'll bark the tires on shifts.
Technology is awesome... Sync3 is far and away better than original Sync on my 2011 FX4 F150. Love apple car play. Love track apps. Love drive modes (not available on base model.. must get 301a or premium).
The base cloth seats are GREAT. Huge improvement over s197 base seats.
Obviously does not have the brute power of my old Shelby--yet.
