Vehicle valuations. Are sellers dreaming? Or am I dreaming?

no offense but just because you found 1 2010 GT500 for 26k on ebay in december does not mean that those who are selling their 2011-2012 GT500s for low to mid 30s are trying to rob you. If you had a lot of examples fine but you found 1 example of the least desirable 2010+ GT500 and are expecting to steal someones car based on that is what it seems like. Also the economy is really good right now and not a lot of people are selling their toys, within 500 miles of me there are only 24 for sale.

LOL, not looking to steal anyone's car. I'm looking for advice, that's all. And obviously, that one car I found on eBay does not establish the entire market valuation. I only posted one example, but there were more.

Anyway, I'm just trying to gauge the marketplace.
Thanks ;)

Check the Market. LOTS of WTB threads, not a lot of FS threads. And sellers are asking $36k to $41k for 2010 to 2012 models.

To your OP, this seems to be a sellers market at the moment

Pulled some quick info, this is what dealers are paying for them at auction. I pulled info on 2011 and 2014 so you can gauge the difference.

Imagine that a buyer wants to get a gt500 for a steal and to back up his claim of value he post one from an auction site.
Auction sell: did the sell go through? Was the reserve hit, what was reserve? Was it a salvaged title?

Nice low mile 07-09 gt500 still getting low 30's retail.
10 gets new body same drivetrain. Low 30's unless 75k+ miles then in 20's
11/12 al block 5.4, 100lbs less weight low to high 30's depending on condition.
13/14 5.8 much more power stock still mid 40's I believe.

The c6z also is in the mid to high 30 range as well.

OP

Take a look at Ave retail above. 14: 47500, 11: 36800.
Take a couple thousand off each price to get fair market value.

As you can see the 11 is still at 35k and the 13/14 will be 46k.

It almost lasted two weeks, then I got rear ended when I was dead stopped by a dude doing 40. He was in an early 2000's Mercedes wagon so I am just happy I survived. The car is mangled.

Man that sucks. I saw in your thread you said it was totaled. I wondered what happened. People suck.

yes, 07-09s get high 20s low 30s.

my 07 was clean as hell, 25k miles, sold for $30k

I believe they are still dropping in price. 11/12 will get mid to high 30s. 13/14 still at 50++

Who cares what they think it is worth? If you know it is worth less, be amicable and honest. Recognize what they are asking, then level with them and do it a humble way. Make a square offer and if it doesn't meet, then move on.

That is the nature of any deal, you need to try to find a price you can both live with. Generally speaking you are going to think you can get a great car for less than you really can, and generally most sellers think they can sell for top dollar.

Good luck.
