Well here is a new one. 6 years out here and I have NEVER seen this.

I was in the chow hall eating breakfast and here comes this Specialist, he is about 6'4 or 5 and has a SHOTGUN for a weapon. thing looked like a pen that shoulda been in his pocket LOL! Anyway I got to talking to him and asked about the shotgun ... he said his unit was short on weapons so he got the shotgun. He swaps with someone else's M4 or M16 when he has to go outside the wire. Totally un****ingbeliveable.

well the reason they are short here is because so much is being moved into afghanistan.

I had an Army MP LT with me in Iraq that only had a M9, so whenever he went on a mission with us he had to bum a weapon off one of his soldiers. Same situation it sounds like except with a shotgun. :shrug:

Yeah, he was probably BS'n on not having enough weapons, i know in my unit when someone was issued as Shotgun, that was their primary weapon. But still they are nicer than having a saw to carry around all day lol

now you are just being an ass. no I don't believe everything I hear. but when you look at a guys expression when he is angry about something it is pretty easy to tell when they are jerking your chain. and take your pouge insult and shove it up your ass.

Where did I say they were running out of weapons? I said they are short because they are sending tons of shit to afghanistan. How much time have you spent out here in say the last 3 years ... or hell just the year that obammy has been in office?

Shotguns are used over there. Usually not as a primary weapon though. Can you not believe that there is a shotgun there, or that it was his primary weapon?

His unit may have blown all their money on other shit and he got the short end of the stick. It's funny how Astan was getting all the hand me downs from iraq not too long ago. But now that Astan is the focus it's getting all the good stuff. Hell we were lucky to have a FMC BFT on 1 vehicle in a convoy when I was there back in 07/08.
