That sucks, I hoped they were going with "Gear Knobs" as it was rumored.

The BBC has some legal claim to any car show name with he words "Top" or "Gear" in it.

I wonder if their old writers will be joining them? If so, it will be just as glorious as it was. If not, I'm leary.

Velocity is on cable and satellite. It has some good shows on it like Chasing Classic Cars, and Legendary Motorcar to name a few. Cable does suck, but I dont see there being more viewers on Amazon Prime than cable/dish......yet.

I'm way happier it's on Prime, cable/satellite out here with a package that would include Velocity is $40-$100 per month depending on bundle and the contract. Prime is a sweet service, and for $75 a year or whatever we pay it works out well that I don't need to spend $500+ a year and be locked into something for a few years.

Well, my problem with it being on Prime is whether they are going to charge 1.99 per episode. I have Prime too, and some shows are still pay per episode... which you could argue isn't bad if you compare it to a cable subscription, but in perspective when media is free all over the internet... 1.99 per episode is damn near equivalent to paying for porn on the internet. Who does that? What a waste of money.

I agree with what Chris is asking as a concern. It would be awesome if the Amazon Prime pricing was very cheap, but Amazon Prime keeps increasing as more content is added. It wouldn't surprise me to see them go with a per episode charge rather than push a larger annual fee into Prime. Easier to push that on the consumer than an annual/season charge of some type. Time will tell.

This new show looks to be awesome, and I'll definitely catch the opening episodes and then see how the pricing is. I'm already paying for my DirecTV (which I like better than cable), so I'm not excited about paying for content outside of their service.

Amazon Prime has been around for 11 years and they increased their price once, from $79 to $99/year. That's $8.25/mo on the high end, almost as cheap as Netflix.

I agree I wouldn't like the pay per episode model either... hoping it gets rolled into the base Amazon Prime fee.
