What are all those spots on the cars?

I never seem to get those when I am taking pictures here in Los Angeles :whine:

Kat, did they actually run in the rain? I would love to see an event where they do. (other than F-1 or Supercoupe)

No, but this is what happened when they called for "street cars" to come help dry the runway...

Looks like most street cars in Texas have over 600hp;-) That must have been fun to see. How wet did it get? A whole lot of rain or just a sprinkle?

I thought this was one of the cooler things of the event. At one point, I bet there were 40-50 cars and trucks out drying the runway. Almost looked like the highway.
