This is great news. I cant wait to see some prices. I guess it would be best to go with the new input shaft and clutch/flywheel (if you are planning over 550rwhp), might as well do it all at once.

So JB will have his car ready to dyno on the second?

it only took me a few hours to pull the trans by myself (on jackstands) so will be no problem to do it one night next week with Doug's assistance

I decided not to bust my balls and put it together tonight for Columbus, mostly because I want to properly break in the SPEC clutch & flywheel

Now, why again didn't Ford do this? Oh yeah! I'd make to much god damn sense.

I can tell you why.. Because they want to sell you a 2000 dollar tranny when a 100 shaft they went out of their way to make weaker breaks.

I had to do without my car for a few weeks to help the process of bringing this shaft to market but I didn't mind it too much (I was out of town part of the time anyway)

It feels good to be able to do something for "the scene" (borrowed one of your phrases there, Hammer :)

Yea especially since they won't sell you the input shaft alone you need to buy the tranny.

great idea

Amazon is a SPEC dealer so I could see that happening

the TOB that comes with them is nice with a plastic collar that can't chew up the retainer

they have a new 6-puck carbon/ceramic disc for the stage 3 that is supposed to be quite streetable (we shall see...)

despite recent posts that they changed the 2's standard config, according to Dave at SPEC, if you want a Stage 3 pressure plate with a stage 2 disc you MUST special order it that way!

their billet aluminum flywheel is also a fine piece of work

he noted that the stock Ford one has a couple shortcomings, one being the thickness of the steel insert (easy to warp) and also the very small rivets holding the ring gear on...he said they'd seen a number of cases of the gear coming off

MJCHIP, I have the same setup as you...how's yours working for ya?

Hey JB,

Don't be surprised if it takes upward of 1000 miles to break that sucker in. Mine shuddered like crazy for the first 500-1000miles. At the track, it grabs like a MOFO! :)
