10/4, we too take advantage of our local opportunities when it comes to food. We raised chickens, buy free range beef, attend hog butchering. We are fortunate. I have not witnessed cruelty slaughtering. It is rather quick. Turkey season last month gave use an opportunity to have wild Turkey salad from friends. I haven't hunted in years, just don't need to.

my point was some guys like to think eating meat=man status, I'm not actually critisizing store bought meat, I just think its funny how some people think that's what makes a man a man. Only people who can claim to be badass are the people who hunt the meat themselves.

I have not seen local hog butchering here. Cattle and chicken are the big two and I'm fine with beef/chicken/fish.

Again, I'm not virtue signalling or telling anyone what they should/shouldn't do, only posted my own personal morals

Never. But I do not eat red meat as much not pork/processed meats. Maybe 2-3 steaks a month.
Sometimes I'll sub Lima beans in place of meat here and there.

But I'm a destroyer of birds. Turkey and chicken I eat a lot of.

The land of commies and socialists!
Everyone has their own choices. Until I saw this video and others I never knew this was how livestock was killed or handled.

I’m sure people would be up in arms if these were dogs instead of pigs.

First off not all livestock is killed and handled this way. PETA would love to get everyone to believe this is happening to every single piece of bacon and every steak that hits the meat case but it simply isn't the case. You can look up video after video to convince yourself if you'd like though.

Op, search vegan teeth. I would try cutting back on meat and make vegetables the main part of your plate.

Animal abuse is not ok.

Vegan...protein is not the same from a plant vs meat. Meat protein also has better functionality. You will also need to get blood work and figure out with supplements you need to take. If you eat Soy, its like dosing yourself with estrogen too.

I did not watch it, but apparently there was some documentary on Netflix on vegan and so many people were walking around talking about all the details and how they beleive it....not one even considered maybe it is biased and there's other research out there? People basing major health choices off an hour netflix show LOL.

No vegan on earth benefits from the same complete amino chain profile as an omnivore. It is impossible to replicate nutrition a piece of steak offers. Also, the most overlooked benefit of eating natural saturated fat (i.e., beef) is testosterone production. Without sat fat and cholesterol, test production drops. And we all know that’s a huge problem with men today. It’s what biologically defines men. So yeah it technically makes you more of a man.

That being said, the only reason to cut anything that beneficial from your diet is some other related health concern. Digestive health was mentioned earlier.

My buddy's wife is a vegetarian I think, or maybe vegan. I'm not sure.

Since they have started living together he has gotten smaller and smaller. It's was kind of alarming to look at him, he used to be fairly cut and decently built. Now he looks like his body is being eaten away.

Good vegan documentary on Netflix called "The Game Changers." I have considered going this route as well, but more vegan "lite" vs full on vegan.

If you don't like it go hunt your own food and do it humanely....or buy cruelty free meats.......or get on a forum and announce it to the world like every other vegan that wants to stroke their own ego does.

That movie is a joke. It presents the case as a false dichotomy of the worst version of a meat based diet with the best version of a plant based diet. Most of the "evidence" is laughable. Gladiators bones, the erection test, the cloudy plasma, beets = strength etc. LOL. It is a propaganda film funded by James Cameron, who owns a large company focused on plant based protein. It is ironic that he has a cutaway of the Cattlemans Association as evidence of conflict of interest.

This is coming from someone who has a largely plant based diet BTW.
