this is new...

I run a 6# lower and 3.1 upper.

There are guys that ran a 2.93 upper with a 4# lower with a NON ported blower with no problems.

So your saying its better to go 2.93/2# lower instead of 4# due to excessive heat and wear?

I'm going to say this depends on what you plan to use the car for.

I would say that if it's a daily driver, then going crazy with boost is going to wear out your blower pretty quick.

Any road racers will need lower boost requirements.

Guys that like to blast it on the highway once and a while, or just DRAG RACE, maximum boost is probably what you want regardless of blower wear. I don't drive my Cobra that much anyway.

before you all go crazy, I called Bob and he's busy porting blowers. So hopefully he'll get back to us soon.

What I am saying is go for 16#s of Boost, that equals:
Good Power
Good Reliability
Cooler IATs

LOL ... but Bob .. my 2.93 / 4lb setup puts me at ~16lbs :)

Hopefully when I reinstall my 2.95/4lb combo with LT's on my new motor, I'll see the ideal 16lbs. I blew it up once, I DON"T want to do it again!!!

BTW: Bob, I love your port job!!

That is good although alot are seeing 17 and 17+ lbs boost with that same pulley combo. 17 lbs is too much boost.

So you would recommend the 2# lower with the 2.93 then? This is making me change my plans after seeing all the success people have had with the 4# lower.

I agree with BADCOBRA it doesn't matter what pulley combo you run. Get one that give the least amount of slip. I will keep my 8lb and find an upper to give me 16-17psi.

please tell this to big turkey and all those people that said that 19psi was fine to run on a ported blower as long as you use nitrous.
