So I've been monitoring the rear end on my car watching for any leakage. The reason for this is because I noticed a small puddle has been building up on my driveway towards the rear of my car. After looking at it closely, I noticed that not only is the spot completely wrong for where the leak would be if there was one, but also it isn't Royal Purple Rear Diff fluid that I use. After getting home today, I see that it is a massive puddle. Looking under my car just to make sure I'm not crazy...nope, absolutely no leaks coming from my rear diff. I put some on my finger and yep, it's some cheap ass rear diff fluid.
So this leaves me to only one other conclusion. Someone is parking in my driveway while I'm at work. Not going to lie, I'm kind of fuming right now because this feels like an invasion of privacy/trespassing.
So my question is now, what in the hell do I do? I can't have the car towed because I can't pinpoint when it is there. I can't really go incognito and take a day off of work and catch the bastard.

Get a wildlife camera that takes pictures of deer or bears. Set it up and let it take pictures of the car and whomever gets out.

Lol, I can already see where this thread is going to go. I've already weighed out the milkman/plumber theory.

This is easy - take a half day, parallel park across the end of your driveway, blocking the person in, go inside and call the police, assuming the dude isn't in your house. Or you could just get a lawn chair and sit there and wait in your drive way if your the confrontational type.

Whoever it is won't be driving much longer leaking that amount of fluid. Take a day off, leave in the morning, park and walk back. Keep an eye on it. If they park and you can block them in do that. Then wait, eventually they will knock. Then wait some more. After a few minutes answer.

I'd park down the road with your driveway in sight take the day off work and make sure to get snacks because it will be boring, once they stop in go confront them then enjoy the rest of your day off.

Do you have a friend with a tow truck?

Post your driveway with a no parking sign that is registered with the city.

Have the truck driving friend wait for the car to park then haul it away.

The truck gets to charge an enormous hostage fee and so does the impound yard.

You win, the truck driver wins, the city wins.

The car's driver gets the bone.

Lay some homemade spike strips across the entrance of your driveway when you leave for work every morning.:-D

Oh ya, and do not forget you put them there when you get home from work.:mj:

In before SD.

There's an invasion of privacy alright, just not the one you're thinking.

Catch whoever is doing it by doing the half day thing, block them in, call the cops...make them pay for dripping shit all over your driveway.

Take a day off work to stake out the place
Be sure to get up like you are going through your normal routine
Park way away from your home

All good ideas to me.

I would even go as far as driving to work then turning right around and coming back to park some where inconspicuous, just in case the ass hat follows you or knows your exact routine.

Report back with info.
