She's pretty, love the green. I think it'd be perfect about 1-2 inches lower on all 4 corners.

Here is a picture when I first bought it in 2004. It was lower with all the clapped out, worn out bushings and springs. I have a guy to lower it - it would make the stance better. With all the new bushings and new crisp springs it gets it higher. If I had it to do over again - I would do it with the lowering springs.

I painted it back to the original color (Ivy Green with painted stripes).

Those rims came on the car - they are Budnik's (15x6 in front and 15x 9.5 in back). The guy I bought the car from got them from a guy with a 32 Ford Hot rod. I sold them to a guy here in Houston who had a different 32 Ford convertible Hot Rod.

The torque thrusts are American Racing 15x6 front / 15x8 back

I drove it for a year and late 2005 it went to body shop hell for 3.5 years

Thanks for all the comments - I spent a lot of time and effort getting all the parts together and resurrecting it

Very nice. The stance and the wheels look very period correct for a 60's street car.

Exactly! I like it just the way it is.

OP, do you wish you had a 4-speed? Just curious. Gorgeous '65 GT you have there.

If it came with a 4 speed I wouldn't have minded it but I like the set up that it has.

My wife had a 5 speed (Toyota) when we first met that I used to drive occasionally

The 65 has a built C-4 with a shift kit and a stall so it gets things going pretty good. The guy I bought the car from hot rodded the car all up, I had to take some of the parts out. I think he wanted to drag race it (there are no windshield wipers in the white original picture). He put a huge Demon carb and a racing Holley fuel pump that was on a separate toggle switch to power up. I switched all that because it was fouling the plugs after about 50 miles of driving. It. Runs really good now...

Thanks for all the comments - I saved that car from the junkyard - the cool thing is that it is a true GT.
