My friend got one of those. He was heartbroken to find that my Grand Am beater is faster ha. Good job hustlin. How many miles?

Your freind needs to learn how to drive. With a good driver the CSVT is a high 14 to low 15 second car stock. No way a Grand Am is going to keep up with it

oh yeah, go register at www.contour.org and meet some locals tour owners.

Its a low 15 second car. I don't recall anyone breaking into the 14s STOCK. I know a couple hit the 15.1 mark.

Than your friend can't drive, stock mine beat a Ram Air GT Grand Am. Auto vs. 5spd, I assume a 3.1, 3.4, or 3.8(i dont know much about them) vs. a 2.5L.

the SVT is a great drivers car. Nice, smooth and quick.

Although there are the few guys that think they are superfast. I once had a guy and his friend look over at my escort and laugh at it....they quickly learned that 10k escort, $200 cams and $50 udp = faster :).....they didnt laugh anymore.

This thread is about an SVT Contour.
Has pics of an SVT Contour.
Conversation about an SVT Contour.
We have a forum for SVT Contours.

Hmmmmmmmmmm Yeah it belongs in ROADSIDE.:nonono:

QUIT YOUR BITCHING AND MOVE ON!

Woah, relax! I'm not bitching, just a little lost. I posted in Roadside because that is where I frequent. Didn't really think it was that big of a deal. I guess it is. The last person I expected to hassle me about it was you Larry. Oh well, no big deal. -Mat-

the slow ones are the ones that don't have a working IMRC (intake manifold runner control) basically, the secondary intake ports are opened by a mechanical motor by a certain point in RPM that the computer determines. if they don't open, you go slow. it wont make the car run slow, itll just have no power over about 3200 rpms.

Can these be monitored with a Snap-On scanner to see if they are functioning>???

not sure but if the car does get up and go after ~3500 rpm then there is a good chance the secondaries are not working.

to verify just pop the hood and look for the linkage below the tb, rev the engine up and look for them to move.

if they are not working the car will feel flat and no want to pull at all at high rpm ...

I know you can monitor the signal with a xcal2 but of the linkage came off there that isn't going to tell you much.
