Car looks great!

But it looks like the front bumper cover is angled downward IMO. The line gap gets wider from the tire towards the headlight between the bumper cover and fender. It's also much more pronounced where the bumper cover meets the hood.

Good eye. I’m on it

Fab Fords was a success. In the three years I’ve owned the Mystic I’ve put around 1500 miles, 800 of them were this week!

Before Fab Fords I wanted to shake the car down. Took a trip from Las Vegas to the AZ border to see how the car would hold up after sitting for 2 years. Shortly after we got on the road the dash lit up like a Christmas tree; oil, coolant, ABS, and check engine

Oil light was a false alarm and turned off. Coolant was due to a leak where the coolant cross over goes into the head. Bought new o-rings, but still had a pin hole leak where the crossover was dented during removal. Some black RTV fixed that. Engine light is rear O2’s. ABS is undiagnosed.

Here’s some pictures from the show

It’s windy today. I’m driving on the freeway and a gust of wind throws a traffic cone into my front bumper. :frustrated:

Think most of it will buff out? that sucks.. been there...

Since it was just painted the clear wasn’t fully cured and peeled back. Hopefully there’s still clear under the deepest spot. If not I’ll sand the whole bumper again and re-clear it.

Anyone interested in buying this car?!!?! I’m so frustrated right now, I’d take a dollar!

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment! I’m cooling off now, but I’ll stand by my word. If you put a dollar in my hand in the next 30 minutes.... it’s yours!

Got 2 quotes for the Mystic bumper; $2,850 & $3,100. Wow! I’m filing a claim with the construction company. In the meantime, here’s some pictures to keep the thread alive

Spoke with the construction company the other day and they’re looking at a total loss for the scratches. I’m meeting with the insurance adjuster this week to sort it out. No way in hell will I accept a total loss. I just want my car repaired.

In the meantime, I damaged the T45. On my way to Cars n Coffee I wanted to have some fun on an open road, so I launched it twice. Everything went great, but now without firm force it will not shift into 2nd gear. It either grinds or pops out. Found a low mile 3650 locally that I’m going to look at next week.

The trans is a broken/bent shift fork. I had the same issue. $500 later it was fixed with stronger parts.
I'm sick to MY stomach thinking they will total that car.

Op, your insurance is saying theyre gonna total it out??

No, the construction company’s insurance is leaning towards total loss due to the repair cost. The claim adjuster is supposed to contact me this week. I’ll provide an update after we meet.

Remember that they have to make you whole.

Book value of the car is immaterial. This car is an investment. Be prepared to give them a figure on what your investment cost is.

Before accepting any offer, negotiate a buyback price if they want to total the car.
