Both of mine were custom enclosures. We used my trunk for the one in my cobra and in the f150 the box is actually part of the trucks cab. Cut out what was needed and we fiberglassed everything else closed.

When you said you used your trunk in your cobra, did you mean it was an infinite baffle design, or did you use fiberglass to creat a box out of your trunk design?

Jesus, i feel bad for your guys's interior! haha. I have a friend with two 12xW3's in his mustang and his car rattles so much that his rearview mirror and overhead lights component fell out lol.

I have 3 x 10W3's in a ported box in my tahoe but I don't think I could do that to my mustang as much as I love audio. Your guys' setups look awesome tho

Sweet box design/skills mineral!!! How did you calculate airspace to come up with correct port length? What are you tuned to?

I just got the sweet Tri-State Kenwood DNX890HD deal (got the head unit, waiting on the adapter and module). I wanted my fellow forum members to post up their subwoofer, sub enclosure, speaker, and amp(s) used so I can have a better idea what to get. I'm thinking two 10" subs, rear firing but I'm clueless on what brand speakers, subs, and amps to get since I've been out of the audio game for two decades. Thanks all, I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your setups.

Edit: I was hoping to get 2 10" subs along the back seat and still fit the Steeda X Brace...if possible, but it's not a deal breaker. I do not want one of those single corner sub boxes as I need the wider rear area of the trunk for storage (need to fit the golf clubs, lol).

You can get a ton of bass out of a single 10 or 12. And save trunk space.

HOLY HUGE PICS!

I didn't build the box. I own a home theater company and I have a guy doing car audio out of my shop. He built everything for me. They used Styrofoam peanuts to calculate how much air space it would have. Fill the space and remove them to calculate.

I'm curious as to which way is the best way to face your speakers. Rear facing into the trunk, front facing into the back of the rear seats, or facing one side like mounted on the left facing the right in your trunk.

I have tried all different box positions and rear facing into the trunk was def the loudest. It gave it a louder/boomier sound. Front facing usually requires a lot of work to seal off from the sub box forward. Each setup could be different though. When I had mine front facing, I wasn't happy with the sound, and with simply sliding the box to the back of the trunk (with the sub still front facing), it sounded a LOT better. It's weird how acoustics work. It also depends on spl vs sq. Some people like the boomier bass, and some like the "not as loud" but better transient response of a different setup. To each his own.

edited links. No idea why they're so huge. Doesn't do it anywhere else.

Yes please include as much information as possible in your posts...thanks a lot for this!

Mine was 12.5H x 11.75D x 25" W. 1.25 cu ft

That was for the box. The skirt I added around the bottom I didnt take measurements on before attaching to the box.

Bump for moar!
I'm sorry I don't have many Install pictures but I took the week off to install everything and got to deal with hurricane warnings. Actually installed it in 2 days in a barn with cat 1 hurricane conditions. :D It's old now and I'm thinking of "re-doing" some of it.

Dusty Ol' Pioneer Head Unit. :)

Greatest "Pre-Fab" box in history. JL Audio Stealth box w/ 13w6(It's actually for the 05-9 car but the 11 up didn't offer the w6, just a w3 woofer).

Amp rack, and JMS nitrous controller. Due to hurricane, only MDF I could get was 1 inch so it's kinda heavy. :nonono: JL Audio JX series amps: 1000/1D to 13W6; 360/4 bridged to CDT Audio components. Rear speakers are Infinitys but are disconected(and will be removed in next update.

CDT audio HD 62-as set. Has 6.75 mid-woofers(in stock 5x7 location), 1" silk dome tweeter(in doors) and .75" "Imaging" tweeters on A pillars. They give great sound and an amazing sound stage. :dancenana:

Run 0ga. power wire from battery to a Knukonceptz Fused distribution block, 4ga wire to both amps and also to a 4 to 8 distribution block for N2O heater and 12v power supply.
