Wow, I actually meet him in Germany along several other NHRA Pro-Racers during an Army event, we got to share a beer on the same table.

that accident is right up there with Aryton Senna's accident in 94. i remember watching that race live on tv, i was like 10 then.

There is an amateur video on youtube from right where the car blew up. When it burst into flames the body flew off taking the chutes with it. He had no chance.
