That's somewhat rare....but true, there have been a couple 127mph traps......more real world #s would be 125-126 :thumbsup:

The new z06 would win. This is because there is 400lbs difference. This will close the gap on the s281s higher hp. Also, I would imagine the suspension on the z06 is MUCH better than that of the s281 so that it would be better off the line and stay lower to the ground.

Yeah I agree with that as well. I don't think any Mustang is worth $60K+, the z06 is way more car for the money.

'Based on our trip to the Crazy Horse Racing chassis dyno (South Amboy, New Jersey), Saleen is being rather modest with its rating system. Our example almost made 400 to the rear tires - 390.6 to be exact. That's probably around 450 to the flywheel. Torque checked in at 387.9'.

Keep in mind they were testing a 281-SC when they were rated at 400hp. Not 425hp like the newer ones. So yup, Saleen's 'claimed' HP is pretty close to what they actually put down to the wheels.

And it does this with a 3v and 4lbs of boost through the Twin Screw according to the article.

Drag race is down to the driver IMHO. I have been browsing the z06 boards for a while now and it seems like most of the stock Z's run 12.0-12.1 @ 120ish...with some running 11.6-11.9 @ 124ish. The fastest I've seen is an 11.3 @ 124 with drag radials, headers and a tune.

On the road course, I wouldn't put a penny on the Saleen...the Z will crush it.

I disagree totally!!! That Saleen is under estimated.... 550 @ 500 it's like that at the wheels from amp performance that tested one. 527rwhp and 483 Torque. And it has 4.10s. Curb weight is 3,450 w/ the Extreme. Change the pulley, port the supercharger and all the other Famous terminater things and even a cammed full bolt on's will be eating dust. I seen the Extreme in person and seen it go from 0-100 and damn that's the fasted stock mustang period!!!

Yea man, they took the hood off too, and the doors off. :lol: No I don't know what they did, that's what Tom at All Mustangs(Amp Performance) said it weighed in at excact 3,483!

I say the Z06 would win....and thats what I would buy with $65k. I would never pay $65k for a mustang, I love them and all but the Z06 is a better built car for the money.
