RIP. A true legend, a good human being, and an inspiration for a generation of guitars and rockers alike.

My first electric was a Les Paul Studio, i worked all summer long cutting grass at 13 to buy one.

At least he lived a long and rich life. Playing guitar. RIP.

That man was an icon for ALL rock music. He lived a long life and was lucky enough to keep playing right up until his death. Start watching for some kickass memorial concerts from guys like Steve Vai, John Mayer, etc.

Here are my Les Pauls:

Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus

Gibson The Paul II (my first real electric guitar)

And my dad's Gibson Les Paul Studio

Didn't know there are so many musicians on SVTP.
Both 100w Marshalls will be set to 11 tonight. ;)

One of the great legendary guitar players, first to creat a solid body guitar, a recording studio innovator, and all around nice guy! I was about 10 years old when Les Paul and his talented wife, Mary Ford, had some of their biggest hits in the early 50's! They were big time recording stars back then and I recall some of their great songs very well! He and his wife were both wonderful people!
