Damn it guys, now I want to hop on the 4.10 band wagon. I still haven't installed all my suspension stuff yet!

...My local dealer says I can get away with cold air and exhaust, just so I dont go into the computer. But I still think I will wait because I would need to retune to get any advantage from upgrades I think. I really like the warranty just in case!
Not trying to rain on the parade, @Chancey, but did you change your mind about warranty preservation?Regardless which ratio you choose, you will need a tuner to change the ratio to recalibrate the speedometer. The factory tune has a limit that can't be exceeded by the dealer's tools for the rear ratio.
Hey Norton. I am close to pulling the trigger on the mods anyway. I know it will void my warranty. My local dealer and I have become pretty tight, and he says he could get around it anyway potentially. Now I know that may not be true if the engine blows! I am feeling pretty confident now however that Im in pretty good shape mechanically and once again about to pull the trigger on mods...not too wise I know, but I cant stand not doing it much longer man!Not trying to rain on the parade, @Chancey, but did you change your mind about warranty preservation?
I've got a set of 3.73s sitting on the shelf. I want to run them, but can't bring myself to risk the whine that seems to accompany aftermarket gears.
What really got me bit by the mod bug again is when I put on the Nitto 305/35/20’s on the rear. It just hooks and goes now so well, that I want more of a gear to launch it even harder Norton.Hey Norton. I am close to pulling the trigger on the mods anyway. I know it will void my warranty. You only get 15 miles a gal on Interstate driving at 75? That Seems low but Im not sure of all the Mods you have.I know, I know. You keep telling me that. I'm just hesitant with all the highway driving I do. But it sounds like it keeps that reasonable still. Only managing to get 15.7 out of her now on the highway at 75. So how much worse could it get if it only changes 3 or 400 rpm in 6th? 1st gear is most definitely too long for most parking lots. Plus, if you want to get onto it leaving a place, you'll be half way up the street before the rpms get turned up.
Its only money right?
That seems really low on mainly highway at low speed/cruise.98.25% Highway driving. That's about all its ever managed. Car is stock with just a borla atak cat back. Factory tune. Car put 613hp and 615tq to the tires last fall. Run 93 in it all the time, and set cruise between 74-76mph. I live 3/4th mile from the highway, and work is less than that from the highway. Exit to exit is almost exactly 30 miles. So a little over 60 miles a day gets put on her.

Same here, as I went 3.73s when I went to a built rear and once that starting whining from the strip, and couldn’t wait to go back to 4.10s. It really is the perfect gear for ‘13-14 trans ratios and power curve. If it helps you, when I had 4.10s (3.90s now...kinda...) I had to make a trip from Ft. Campbell to Detroit for a funeral in mine. Averaged 22.1 mpg. That was around 700 to the rear at that time. Summer time. And 4.10s make 3rd and 4th absolutely fierce. I only went to 3.90s because I was going through the traps right at 7k in 4th and wanted to knock the rpm down a tad. But, i feel i will be going right back to them. Awesome gear for our cars.

I am now sure that it will be my first mod (after the skins) also gonna go 4.10’s for sure. I went to a Summit Racing car show in GA yesterday and on the way back my ac fan started squealing real bad/loud. Scared me at first and I about tripped thinking it was a bad issue with the engine, trans, etc. But Im gonna take her to get the fan replaced or whatever it needs under my warranty before I do the gears now.All that said, most definitely swap the rear gears.
Can almost guarantee even if you had a warranty issue and the only mod was rear gears, few if any dealers would know or care.
Gears are the best mod hands down after rear tires.
