Currently have stock headers, BBK catted X, and Mac Catback. Dont really enjoy the noise anymore so looking for an exhaust system that is as close to stock as possible. Been looking around and couldnt find anything, I thought Dynomax used to make a stock-type kit with the Super Turbo mufflers but Im having trouble finding it. Any help appreciated.

You could always go back to the stock H pipe. As far as catback's that are more quiet? Possibly magnaflow.

I have a Dynomax Ultra Flo SS...it's one the quietest aftermarket cat-back I've own. My stock Borla on my 98 Saleen is very quiet also.

I have the Steeda cat back. It has an agressive sound when you get on it but is quite when cruising.

Flowmaster Force II or Dynomax if you can find it.. You could always just get Dynomax Super Turbos welded into your current catback at a shop, they're not expensive :)

I have just picked up a 96 cobra that has the full Bassani system on it...headers, catted X and cat back> I am amazed at how quiet it is unless you have your foot in it...you hear it, but not loud and on the interstate, don't hear it at all. I am a Mac person and am thinking about switching out at least the mufflers. If you are interested in some kind of swap.....pm me.

just weld in some borla pro xs mufflers to the kit you already have, cost about $115 each.

Why? Were these cars obnoxiously loud off the showroom floor?

I think a stock catback would help with the least performance impact but I'd bet a stock H pipe would make the most significant drop in dB.

Well his current midpipe is catted atleast.. so I say change the mufflers or catback.

Go for the regular magnaflow or the borla XS mufflers. I think they'd still sound good while being pretty quiet.

i have Bassani mid length headers, catted bassani xpipe and borla xs mufflers turned down and it almost sounds stock, i love it. the borla xs mufflers were dynoed at highest HP and lowest decibels.

+1 i dont like the idea of an old stock 4 cat mid pipe or stock exhaust.

catted midpipe with regular magnaflows or pro xs borlas will be pretty quiet but still sound good when u get on it.

have o/r h and flows on my green cobra, sounds great but too loud.
gonna be running highflow catted h and flows on the black one then probably switching to borla xr1's which will sound amazing but not too loud i hope.

Thanks for the brilliant response. Not everyone wants loud exhaust. I liked it when I was in high school, but Im over it at this point.

Thanks to everyone else for suggestions, ordered some Borla mufflers, they seem to flow well and be relatively quiet.
