Been busy with work and other things but as they say; fix here and there and the weak links will appear, true that!! After the final tuning of my new combo clutch went south, bought a SPEC3 and installed it, then after the break in period (200-300 miles of civilized driving, lol) it was time to finish my tune, 93 Octane, 18 lbs of boost, 14 degree of timing, playing it safe, making increases of 2 degrees after cool downs, data logging etc.. I was ready to hit the track with the 14 degrees and 16 degree tunes, thought of throwing some race fuel and try 18 degrees buuut my rear end had another plans, on the first "pass" 5,000rpm launch 28 Hoosiers and stock axles, something breaks... time for new rear axles smh, upgrading to 31 spline ford racing units and explorer spider gears as i type, probably i'll hit the track tomorrow night... hope everything holds together!
after new 31 spline axles and a new visit to Edinburg race track ended with a disapointing 12.7@104 I was devastated, I even traded my semi built SRA for a stock IRS and my QA1 front suspension for a stock one, thinking about selling the car but i couldn't give up that easy so i let the car sit for a month or two and make up my mind in what direction I'm heading. First I removed the 6lb lower and replaced with a 2lb lower for future blower upgrade, and reduce overspinning and heat from the Heaton, after talking to my tuner and help from lots of threads from here and modular we finished our street and race tunes, haven't tried the "race tune" (street 22 race25 degrees of timing) and I can say I ended the 2015 happy
New PB ET and MPH
so I guess i need more seat time and some weight reduction and i'll be knocking on 10s this 2016
Next on list, K-member, front runners, teksid block and some suspension adjustments
