I have been Mustang free for six years now and I'm starting to get the itch again. Came across a 00 GT that's been sitting for some time, supposedly needs a clutch and the brakes bled. Car only has 60k miles and is bone stock.

Only spoke to the owner a few minutes but so far seems pretty honest about the condition of the car. Any thoughts on what to look at on it or concerns you would have for a car that sat 5+ years?

Check rubber for dry rotting. Gaskets are probably hard by now and it might leak somewhere, seal softener would be a good idea. Fluid check and portably change would be recommended. Battery is almost certainly toast. Also inspect wiring, make sure no rodents haven’t been chewing on them. Five years is a long time.

Pick your poison.

I've never heard of a seal "softener". Do you mean a seal conditioner?
