Doesn't matter, if you're going to talk the talk, you better be able to walk the walk (or something to that affect) or be prepared to get sand kicked in your face.

Just hoping someone would have more details on the cobra reproduction

"Buying an extensively modified Terminator with an SRA is like marrying a pornstar...of course she is hot and can tear a mattress up, but way too many corndogs have been thru that cotton patch!"

Seen too many broken half shafts to be comfortable with anything but a SRA....

They just sell the fiberglass shells and frame... at that point you can put whatever you want... Ive seen some with 427's, 351's, 289's, and even Chevy 350's and BBC's

Whos telling what was in this one... If he hung close with a KB, it was probably something semi-stout...

And these things dont come with roll bar"s" its a little roll bar, to keep the car from crushing the driver...w

Hoping there was a "typical" one most people built but so be it. 427 for the authentic ride?

I have heard they weigh about 2600 pounds but unsure what engine and transmission that would include

At most car shows, I see the 289's, but then again there was one with a 289 badge, but a 460 was in it...

So it really depends on the owner... Most will just put something authentic in it, which would be a 289 or 427... And just cruise it or take it to the car shows...

But then theres those few, who want something that will blast alot of the cars on the road, and will put something beast under the hood... Ive yet to see a turbo one... Im still waiting for that....that would be so sick, however traction would probably be an issue... as it will be pushing way beyond 500rwhp in a 2200 lb car...

The most common shelby cobra kit car you will see is the 'Factory Five' version. This one is based on a doner 5.0-Fox mustang. So most of these that you see will be running a 5.0 or a stroker variant of this.

I have always leaned toward the vintage fords, so I have spent a lot of time reading up on early stangs, cobras and GT40s. (have owned 3 '67 stangs)

Its kind of funny, but I think you can usually tell a lot by the outward appearance on these cars. Red w/ silver stripes.. hmm. = Doesn't really care too much about the vintage roots of this platform. Just in it for the 'cool' factor. Probably just a cruiser with a stock 5.0 motor in it. Very possible didn't even build it himself. So with a stock 80's 5.0 it will likely outrun a lot of stuff on the road. But is easy prey for a beefed up Terminator!!

There was a guy in North Fla /Jax are few years back with a very 'ugly' cobra kit car. It was flat black and primer last time I saw it. He put all his time and energy into the build with little work on the aethetics. He had a stroked 347 smallblock with one of the vintage paxton SC onit. It has a close ratio 4 speed toploader and a Jaguar IRS set up. I don't know what kind of HP/TQ he was making, but I bet it was pretty fast. (no carpet or stereo or passenger seat either)
