What did you use to shave the head down and by how much?

You can grind it or have it cut. Leave about 5/32 on the head so they can be removed if required. Undy did this first I believe and one of his posts has a picture of it on the car.

I used a 4" angle grinder and did it in place, no problem.

If you run the wider tires such as the BFG KDs or the FI D3s the bolt mod won't be enough.. The inner side wall WILL RUB the inner portion of the upper control arm bracket. I'm running the 315 BFG KDs (second pair) and I'm running the bolt mod with the 7/32" spacers with no clearance issues. Without either mod THEY WOULD RUB!!! The reason I recommend the 7/32" spacers are these are the thinnest ones that give most people enough clearance and are the widest spacers I feel safe with the stock lug studs. I still recommend AFS' "Extended Reach" lug nuts with any spacer. They'll give you more "bite" on the studs..

BTW... IMHO if you go with the v-e-r-y wide spacers (30MM+) and new lug studs the 10.5" wheels/tires will stick outside the fenderwell and look ricey..... shades of wrong off-set wheeled hondas...heh, heh.:coolman:

Undy,

Is your car lowered? I had no rubbing issues with the KDs or GSs. Both of which are the same section width as the AVS Sport on the car now.

30 mm Spacers

As I stated, I have 30mm spacers and 10.5" and I am exactly flush with the fenders. It makes the car look very fat. Everyone that sees my car thinks the width is awesome......that's their humble opion......my opinion....it looks good. Anymore than 30mm with 315's it's gonna be outside the fender....no doubt!

Jim: Thanks for hosting! Hope the pics are helpful! I think the backspacing is 6 3/4 inches. The tires are about 1/4" from sticking out.

i have 335 30 18's on 10.5 inch rims. no rubbing, no spacers. did shave a dime sized piece off of the irs bolt, but not because it rubbed while drving, but because it rubbed putting it up on a lift and fully extending the suspension.

I have 295/35/18 on 18x10 wheels. I don't have spacers or have the "shaved" irs bolt. No rubbing @ all.

OK, all I want to do is run 17x10.5 wheels on the back with Nitto DR's OR GSD3's in a 315 series.

I have STOCK everything, springs, shocks suspension, etc. I have the Steeda bushings that came with the button head bolts, I have not put these in yet. Will someone please fill me in on what is up with them. Are they breaking, backing out or what?

Thanks.

I have 335/30/18 PS2 on CCWs 11 inch wheel. No rubbing once off the jack but it is close enough to make me want to take some off that bolt once I figure out how to best do it.

I have Kuhmo 295/35/18 rears with AFS 10.5 and 275/40/18 fronts with AFS 9.0. No suspension mods (stock). The rears "pinched" the IRS bolt when on the jack, once mounted and off the jack there was plenty of room between the rim and IRS bolt.
