Turns out we have not been using our treadmills properly. Now this is how you play with your dicast cars. Makes me wish I was a kid again LOL.

Okay got more work done to the project car.

I'm posting this just so folks can see the process. The car goes through a chemical strip and is taken down to bare metal. I sand the bare metal to remove any left behind paint and to ensure the metal surface is prepped and will provide a "bite" for the primer. I then prime the car. then I provide a primer sealer.

I also do this process to the top and bottom of the car. This ensures 100% color transformation. Most people who look at my creations will never know what the original color was. I also spray base coat on the top and bottom, I only clear coat the top.

Next step will be base coat.

What stripper do you use? Aircraft remover?

Literally going to ask that. Good man.

I actually prefer Dupli-color Products. So, I use their paint stripper.

I used to use this extra strength stuff by Mar-Hyde. I used to get it from Advanced auto parts and it worked great! However, I don't think it's available anymore.

Now there is this stuff from Klean-strip that is labeled as aircraft paint remover. I have used it and I think it sucks. Mar-Hyde was the best and Dupli-color is the next best choice in my opinion.

Okay everyone, I had to wait to post these pictures as it was a gift for someone who has access to this thread. So, didn't want to spoil the surprise. I'm happy to report the gift has been received and is very much liked.

This is the first one I built with stripes. It was a challenge, but came out looking pretty good.

As always comments are appreciated.

Very nice! I know he was very excited to get it and it looks like another super quality job!

Thank you Doug!

Have you seen it in person yet? His wife said it looks better in person. Wonder if he will display it with his car at car shows or keep it in his display case at home? Either way would be cool.

I have one of my car, but I don't take it to car shows as I worry it will walk off lol.

For those with the sharp eye and see the QTR panel and Roof transition are different between the model and above picture, just know the LAPD cars vary.
