Sorry for you 2013 Shelby and Coyote guys, but 2014 Owners just got a cage break:

Wonder why they picked 2014?
Maybe the statistics for crashes leading to deaths for cars 2014 and newer were down enough to justify it? Or maybe the tracks/NHRA need more participants?

I'd like to know how the 2014 year date was established. Just seems strange to not allow the 2013 GT-500 to benefit since it's really no different from the 2014 GT-500. But, it's definitely great news for the newer GT-500 owners.

I sold my Demon last year as it was running 9's and did not want to put a cage in it.
Makes me wish I had held on to it.

This is great news, unfortunately I lost interest in the track a long time ago when I was running low 11's and track officials were constantly telling me to slow down or leave. I used to go once or twice a month, now I might go once or twice a year.

For car models that bridge those model years, I'm sure you could just say its the newer one and get away with it. Not to many NHRA tracks are going to look at the VIN to confirm. My 2013 Viper now identifies as a 2014 as far as the track is concerned
