New member here. Last week I traded in a 2012 charger SRT8
Superbee for a 2011 GT500 w/svtpp. The power delivery is much different and it
is huge step up. Here are some questions:

1) 2nd gear grind. Is there a solution yet by Ford ? Should I
take it in before the powertrain warranty is up?

2) Traction in first gear is terrible. I was thinking if
putting on Mickey Thompson street comps 305/35/20 in the rear. Is this a wise
choice?

3) If I were to a pulley and a
tune, do I need any more supporting mods?

4) The price was 38k with 15k miles. Was this a good
deal
?

5) Are there any major weak parts on this
car or common
issues? Thanks.

No answers, but congratulations on buying your GT-500. I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot. Definitely have your dealer look at the 2nd gear grind issue.

Welcome! Get some suspension upgrades. Grind debate continues. Get a good fanned intercooler.

Welcome! Nice to see another one from Washington in here, we're coming on strong.

1. No real solution to the grind. Please read up and use the search function for the gt500 section of this forum before you go posting about it. Shifter and fluid change has helped many.

2. Bad traction, get used to it. M/T streets will certainly help but I doubt you'll hold first even then. Also keep in mind all the rain we get, not sure if it's a year round vehicle for you. LCA's w/ relo brackets are useful as well.

3. Only necessary supporting mod for a pulley that are needed is colder spark plugs. Heat exchanger (I currently have one for sale that would be great for you, PM me) will be helpful with the increase of heat.

4. Bought our '11 almost two years ago exactly for $40,000 with 17k miles, base model (no options).

5. Only weak point will be your wallet and bank account

ENJOY!!!! Let me know if you have any questions
