If it has a drain someone has beat you to the upgrade. Generally if it's the Ford pan with the drain plug you probably have a FTVB [factory tech valvebody]. You can buy the 4x4 pan,filter, and body for $220-250. Sounds like you guys got a great truck and good luck. Just remember if you've got the 4x4 pan to get the filter that goes with it when you change the fluid.
