Got my JLT CAI delivered the next day which was awesome.

I can't say I noticed a ton of difference in the seat of my pants, but it really made the blower whine alot louder.

The only problem I had was the fitmet of the heat shield. Is it really necessary to have this installed? Is it really protecting that much heat from getting into my intake?

I had an issue getting the heat shield on too. It seems like the end of the filter is supposed to kind of slide into the opening to the fender, but there was no way in hell it would. It didn't just slide on like I though it would. The edge that the bolt goes through is all bent now. Oh well, faulty fitment I guess.

I like the body color though, wish I wasn't a cheapass and got the SB tube for mine

Yea, the way the filter sits, the MAF hits the heat shield and won't allow it to bolt on very easily. It's not going anywhere, but I need to figure out something to sit in the gap between the fender and the left side of the heat shield so it doesn't look so ghetto.

Looks good under there. Didn't take you long at all to start modding, did it? :-D

Not at all. The louder blower whine was well worth the jack. I told my fiance I was just getting a shorty antenna and she happened to be home when this box came. Busted.:nono:

You have the heat shield on wrong that's why, The front of the shield is suppose to go over the green ground bolt. You have it tucked under, I did the same thing when i installed mine last week.Swapped it over the bolt now it sits and fits perfect.

Thanks for the post and it looks great.
Yes, the shield fits over the tab on the rad support and you don't use the grommet from the stock box.
Also, your MAF should be at the 10:00 position. It's possible the corners of the MAF are interfering with the shield not allowing it to sit right.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me direct.

I tired the MAF at multiple different orientations and it doesn't fit.

However, if I've got the shield on wrong, that's the problem.

Fixing that tonight and starting to do the free mod on the hood inserts. Already got the krinkle paint in the garage.
