I got a new spec 3+ clutch and some other transmission parts installed. When starting from first gear (or reverse) the clutch shutters like crazy. I only have a few miles on it, but I was wondering if this is normal. Should I just keep driving it and hope it breaks in? I was expecting some clatter but this seems pretty rough. What are your experiences with new clutches?

Ive heard that Spec clutches are pretty violent during the break in period. My Fidanza was pretty bad for chattering lots during the break it.

Just get some city driving miles on it, and it should go away. You may have to keep the revs up taking off from a light in order to prevent stalling the car.

I have a Spec 3+ with a Fidanza alum flywheel and in reverse it did chatter during the breakin period. Now, it feels completely like a stock clutch. Make sure you do the breakin properly and the clutch will work great. I now have 15k miles on mine with a Whipple 2.3 .. and it holds like glue
