So I wake up this morning to find a scrape down my door and on the scoop with cracks. I talked to the roomie that owns the house cause she was up all night with a bunch if people drinking. She immediately got a hold of the neighbors. The neighbors came clean and said one if their friends was riding my roommates pocket rocket bike drunk. So I know who did this, I even know how. I'm making a claim to the insurance company first thing tomorrow. Any mystichrome guys out there ever had to get a repaint? What's the cost? Does it need to be completely repainted? I've taken pictures and have confessions of the accident. What else should I do? Please give some insight if you have any experience similar and if you know the process of repairing mystichrome. Thanks!

They want to pay my deductible as well. I'm gonna get a police report just in case.

I hope someone can chime in on the mystichrome paint tho :(

If it was just the side scoops, I would say easy fix. But since other parts are also damaged, they may have to paint the whole side in order to get it to match. Anyway, try to get a written confession of the accident so you get screwed later. Good luck!

I don't own Mystichrome but i think i read somewhere that it's 500$ a pint for the paint and you will have to repaint the whole car. I'm not 100 percent on this I just remember reading it somewhere

I don't know about the cost per pint but I was thinking that the Mystichrome was actually not that bad to blend. I read it on this site. I'm sure someone with direct experience can chime in but Ive read multiple times on this site that it isn't bad. I've even read guys have used that cheapo touch up paint and touched up stone chips and it blends nicely. Don't worry. A good shop will make it look right without having to paint the whole car.

I'm pretty mad about this. Thanks guys. If anyone knows a good paint shop in SoCal, I'd love some suggestions

I did get a reference to Rocky Frost from JBA, they never called me back when I contacted them before. Maybe the voicemail never went thru. I think I'm gonna contact them first if no one knows of a good guy for this. JBA had the only reference so far.

Have them write an apology letter to you. That letter would be the admission of guilt.

Sorry to hear about the hit. I know how frustrating it is to have your car scratched.

i would call local ford dealers that have experience with mystichrome painting. a local dealer did my friends when he got in a fender bender. u cant even tell it was hit or flaws in the new paint not matching correctly.

I will try this, basically same thing as a confession statement. I want to go that route. They felt real bad, so they are more than willing to cooperate. But I'm still going do everything to cover my end.

From what I heard (I can be wrong) mystic chrome is the easiest paint to match and blend since the angle you look at it determines the color is appears. So for all mystic chrome owners, it'll be easy to match, just expensive for paint. Once again that is just what I remember hearing, and I can be completely wrong. +1 on the 96 mystic being the hard paint to match.
