We went to the track yesterday and I let my oldest son use my 17x9.5 Race Star wheels with 26.5x11.5x17 MT ET Street bias ply tires on his 2012 3.7 V6 Mustang.

He was able to make three passes on the tires and he lifted the left front wheel (18" GT wheels) on all three passes.

His car has 100% stock suspension. His car is a M6 car. His mods are a JLT CAI, 93R Bama tune. 3.73 gears and a Lethal Performance 2.5" O/R X-pipe.

Below are the vids from the three passes and a still shot from the 2nd pass.

The last run with the Foxbody is my youngest son's car. It runs very well for a stock cammed car that made 292 RWHP.

These runs were also made into about a 15-20 MPH headwind.

Nice Greg! Strong running family of cars.

Details on the stock cammed Fox.

Thanks Justin

It is a '87 GT with the stock 170K+ mile short block. It has a set of out of the box Trick Flow heads, 24# injectors, 70MM TB, 75MM MAF, Anderson Power Pipe, BBK SSI intake, BBK 1 5/8 LT's, Dr. Gas O/R X-pipe, MAC Flowpaths. T5 trans with 3.73 gears.

The car made 292 RWHP & 328 RWTQ (STD) on a Dynojet. My son weighs 300 pounds and the race weight with him in the car is right at 3,160 pounds. He has the driver mod and was launching off of the rev limiter.

Very nice and impressive!

I have a feeling that the car could run quicker if he rode the clutch a little instead of dumping it. She bogs pretty bad after lifting the tire of the ground due to lack of power I think. Try leaving the line a bit smoother and I think she could pull a bit quicker ET and possibly mph

I agree, but that was the first time that he has ever ran on a sticky tire of any kind.

Thats a lot of gear, considering it has 4.2 ish :1 first gear.
In comparison it would be like having 5.88's in an 03 Cobra.
He has to be shifting before the 60'. Great time a few more mods and your knocking on 12's with a bolt on v6!

the mt-82 only has a 3.66 low gear while the 6l80e auto has a 4.17. if my car was a manual i would have put a 4.10 to 4.30 in it but with his car being a v-6 i thing the 3.73's are fine.
to the op do you know if or what they raise the limiter to. i heard they were a little low from the factory?

Awesome!

You wouldn't happen to have an exhaust clip would you? I've been thinking about the same setup for my 2012 V6

I have the exact same setup in my DD '11 V6 with the addition of an aluminum driveshaft, Flowmaster 'Force II' axleback and a set of J&M LCA's and my car ran a 13.03. I was hoping for some high 12's but I think my factory traction lock is acting up and it is only wanting to spin the right rear and my 60' times went from 1.81 to 1.95 to 2.0+. He is a vid of my 13.03 pass.

The 1st gear ratio in the V6 MT82 trans is 4.24, 3.66 is for the MT82 that is in the GT's.

IMO the 3.73's are as low as you want to go in the V6. My car got 30.5 MPH driving 120 miles to the track on Sunday with my two rear Race Stars, cleaning supplies, jack and tools in the back of the car.

The factory speed limiter is set to 115 MPH. It is set to 255 MPH in my AM/Bama tune. AM/Bama is setting the limiter to either 120 or 125 in their tunes for the V6 if you have the stock driveshaft, due to some high speed/RPM failures.

Awesome!

Here is an exhaust clip of his car and my car.

Not only does your son's '12 V6 run strong, but it's a really nice looking Mustang. I really like it. Looks like you all had some family fun there at the track. :)

Thanks Bob

Yes, we had a fun day at the track! The pic I posted of my youngest son's '87 GT you can see a TR '04 Cobra sitting beside his car. That is my uncle's car, he went with us too.

I really appreciate the compliment Bob! And the rest of you guys as well, thanks! Man what a rush leaving like that! Like dad said, this was my first runs on any kinda sticky rubber. Now that I have that experience outta the way, I know to give it a little slip so as not to bog as much. The story and pics/vids are cool and all, but those low et's are what Im really after!
