My buds 93 RX-7 Single Turbo 617rwhp!!!

Some of you know that before I purchased my Cobra I had a 1993 Twin Turbo RX7 that I loved. It was fast at 2600lbs pushing 350rwhp @ 15psi but my buddy just recently had his on the dyno and MAN ALIVE! Just thought I'd share:

Garrett gt4094 @ 24psi....yes, 2 rotor street port...no spray.

Don't forget, a stock 93 RX7 runs 10psi and makes about 280 at rear. I made 350rwhp @ 15psi but have seen 425rwhp @ 15psi on some with better fuel mods and computer mapping. 24psi on a 2 rotor is some insane boost!

It let go on him at Barber's in Birmingham @ 512rwhp. He put it back together stronger and better this time. But as we all know, that kinda rwhp on any motor approaches the unsafe mark. Oh by the way, this is a street car. He does rides to NC every once and a while.

:dw::??: What is unsafe about any other motor at 512rwhp? I see nothing unsafe about a cobra at 512rwhp nor an ls1-3-6-7 at that power level. Its making great power but reliability will never be there for it like bigger motors

I don't know much about them, but I have a hard time believing that they make 280rwhp bone stock. Weren't they rated at 255 flywheel? Also, if they were way underrated and made 280 to the ground then I'd expect them to be alot faster in stock form since they are so light, trapping in the range of 107-108mph.

Horsepower 255
Torque (lb-ft) 217

Weight is the big advantage they have.
