MT-82 factory specs

I haven't had any of the common MT-82 issues, but I'm still concerned and I wish Ford would've put the TR-6060 in it and charged me the difference.

Get this down, the mt 82 is German engineered, and Chinese assembled. there's a big difference between Chinese made and Chinese assembled.

so are the chinese also doing the machining?

or do they just get finished parts then assemble the transmission?


i know in the past china made stuff had very poor quality control, I could see them setting a tool then running it until the cutters are too dull, then replace and reset, never checking or adjusting for tool wear. that would explain why you get some holding up to 600hp no problem and others that fail under stock power
